I had a Lumbar Laminectomy back surgery and that didn't work. That surgery was done in 04 on my L5 disk now they want to do a anterior and a posteriorfusion. But I'm afraid because I'm overweight and the first surgery didn't help. I don't want to keep going under the knife in fear that something may go wrong. And this is a work injury so you have to wonder if maybe the doctor's are saying surgery just because.

What can I do at home to relieve back pain that has been reoccuring in my lower back (tailbone area). I don't know whether to ice it, heat it, stab it (lol) it hurts so bad just to wash dishes. I had a masseuse work on it last week and it went away! YAY! For like three days! It's back and with a vengeance. I don't understand. I fell like I'm to young to be suffering from back pain. I'm already taking anti-inflammatories and pain killer's the doc gave me. Don't know what else to. My house is a mess cause I'm afraid to do anything.

My granny lives in a very rich upper class appartment in the city and everytime i go there I get stared at to death. I know it's not common to see "tan hispanic looking" living b/c usually it's only whites and asians. Damn i feel like their stereotyping me or something..like it's impossible for a "tan hispanic looking" person to live in a yuppy neighborhood..gosh some people are so close minded. I think what their doing is rude, should i give them an evil eye?

Exactly one week after i again twisted my neck looking from the left to the right really fast. i twisted my neck again, this time i heard something torn in my neck. I developed lots of neck pain follow by the back of my head swollen. I recovered from my neck pains after 3 months, but i am experience a foggy head symptoms all day with concentration problem and sensitive to light and sound. When i am laying down everything feels fine when i am standing and moving about i feel all fogged up and disoriented. It has been five months and i cannot seem to regain my self. I was doing a lot of research online, the only thing i came up with is that probabl i have a severe brain concussion. Has any one have any idea to what is happening.

I have moderate to severe knee and back pain. I am a waitress, and it is necessary to take medication so I can get through my shift (usually 7 hours on my feet). I am prescribed vicodin however only 5mg/500 with the maximum dose not to exceed more than 2 tablets a day. I have to take 2 every 4 hours just to make it through work. My doctor won't prescribe me a higher dose or more pills because she is affraid I will become addicted. Some people take pills every day to keep their heart, blood pressure, diabetes,...etc. regulated. So what if I have to take something for my pain to be relieved so I can get though work. Can anyone recommend an alternative to the vicodin. She has prescribed 50mg. of Ultram to reduce my vicodin intake however, it just doesn't help, the same goes for advil or aleve.

I have been experiencing pain in my upper left arm just above the elbow. It is a sickening achy feeling that seems to be coming from deep within the bone. It seems to come in waves that start out mild and then increase to quite painful - then diminish again. This happens for about a half hour. During these times, I am at rest and I did not do anything just before to injure my arm or exert myself in any way. I don't have chest pain, palpatations, or diaphorisis during these episodes. Yeah, I know I should go to the doctor, but I was wondering if this type of pain could be related to upper back pain. I have been going to a physical therapist and a chiropractor for back issues related to scoliosis for a while now. I'm REALLY sick of doctors and would really like to just blow this arm pain thing off.

I have a growing number of sterile dressing from first aid boxes that although are still sterile are technically 'out of date' I am sure there must be somewhere that would be glad of them and not mind the 'date' issue........(I have checked that they do not deteriorate unless the packet is damaged)

Could this be an obsessive/compulsive behavior? I am 50 years old and can't stop, even when I am in pain and bleeding I continue to tear skin from my fingers, mostly my left thumb both pinkies and my left index and ring finger. I take prozac already and I don't seem to have a lot of stress in my life, but I just have to do this. I used to chew my nails but I quit about 15 years ago. I don't like to hold hands with my husband or rub his back because my hands are rougher than rough sandpaper, Help!!!

Okay just a quick question for any doctors or people clued up on the body.

The right hand side of my neck is in agony and it is swollen. I find swallowing anything at all quite painful. The pain spreads from my adams apple to my ear. Anyone know what it could be?

I have a doctors appointment on wednesday.

Thanks

Has anyone had a sort of cramp in which the muscle beneath your armpit got cramped after raising your arm too fast or high? Just wondering cause I got it yesterday and I thought it might be something else.

I'm an 18 yr. old male, who for the past year have been dealing with anxiety and panic attacks. I've turned into somewhat of a hypochondriac, but have gotten better about it.

I'm always cold it seems like.. and somehow just got this idea in my head that i have low blood pressure. I mean, I'm skinny but fit.

I've had a million tests done within the last year just to prove to me it's all anxiety. (complete blood counts, glucose tolerance tests, ekg, etc.. you name it.) So i've had my blood pressure checked by docs many times before, and they have told me nothing about it. I've always been told it's low, but it's good (I think he means low meaning it's not high blood pressure).

So am I just acting like a hypochondriac again since i get my blood pressure checked often? I get it checked at least twice a year for sports.
