I had stitches and about 2 days after it was removed the incision line started to open back up (just a small wound). Its the weekend so I can't call the doctor so I did some research online. A lot of people said to use medical tape because the doctor won't restitch the same spot. How long do I keep the medical tape on before the wound closes on its own?

I live in Arizona and don't ever wear sunglasses just because I would always lose them or forget them, plus I could never get used to having something on my face. Now I don't even own a pair. Could I be doing damage to my eyes by spending considerable amounts of time outside without sunglasses? I'm comfortable enough without them, but I'm wondering about long-term damage...

I was running down a hall towards the end of the stairs, on the side of the stairs there is this bench which I cracked my knee into when I took the turn too close. Now I have a weird bruise on my kneecap and I can feel a line where it hurts the most, could it be broken or anything? I can walk on it, I just cant bend it without pain. It feels ok when Ive had it in one position for a while but when I try to move it after that it hurts really bad. So! any ideas? serios answers only please.

My wrist is almost always bruised, and one of my friends said she thought it could fracture more easily than if it wasn't always bruised. So I was wondering if that's true, and if it is, what should I do about it?

The average amount of hours for people to sleep is about 8 hours.
My doctor said I (As an individual) need about 6-8 hours every night.

If I sleep 10 hours one night, can I sleep 4-6 the next?

I have been to the hospital recently to visit my friend, and the feeling of just entering the building makes me wonder. My friend and I was talking about how we wished a hospital to be if we could change the inside of it.
Just even the small thing as i wished there was bigger windows so i could look outside and that I could bring my friend flowers.
I was wondering how others have experienced their visit and what they liked and disliked about it.

I'm considering nursing--specifically RN --as a second career. Right now I work as a cook/chef. I work long hours. It's hot. It's dirty. Frequently I am so busy I don't have time to get a drink of water or go to the bathroom. In other words, I am not afraid to work hard and multi-task. But I've read horror stories about complete disorganization or being given 10 patients who all need about 1.5 hours of care on a 12 hour shift or being a 120 pound girl and given a 300 pound patient to turn frequetly and no one will help or having 5 patients all need a blood draw at the same exact time and then getting yelled at by doctors when you cant get it all done at the exact right time. I'm fine working 12 straight hours, but I'd at least like to have time to go to the bathroom a couple of times and at least 15 minutes to eat. I'd like to feel like I'm actually given enough time to competently care for patients. Tell me the real story before I spend time and money to go back to school.

about 5 months ago i was having pain in my ear. I went to the emergancy room. They said i had to much wax in my ear, they tryed to take it out but it hurt to bad. Felt like my ear drum was going to burst. Well It just keep getting worse after that. I went to my regular doctor and she gave me drop to help. They didn't. i went to a specialtict and he said there was nothing wrong with my ear no wax or anything. Well now 5 months later. Every day i feel pressure is building up in my ear. and at night when i lay down i lay on the side that hurts. And not even 5 minutes later i can feel something running out of it. It makes it feel better. But i dont get why it keep happening. Every doctor i go to say theres no fuild in there. If you know what it could be please help. I'm getting so sick of my ear always hurting. Thank you
