if you get a headache without caffeine, you're probably having caffeine withdrawal symptoms.

See, things that trigger migraine, aside from lack of sleep and stress - would be caffeine. We advice patients not to drink too much caffeine-containing drinks, like coffee, tea, sodas and chocolates. They trigger migraines. Aside from that, avoid smoking and alcoholic beverages like beer, gins, vodkas, and the likes. They main only get to to sleep, but you'll wake up even having more headache.

Ativan may help you a lot. I'll ask you to do a simple test. try to feel the muscles at the back of your neck, and your shoulders. Then try the same to your other friends who doesn't have headache like yours. If your muscles are harder that others, you're probably also having a tension headache, aside from concomittant migraine. I advise a muscle relaxant, like myonal, or what your PCP neurologist can recommend.

Trust your doctor. When working hand-in-hand you both will find a solution to your migraine...

Honey, I know exactly what you're going through and I truly feel for you. I have the same thing. I would love to have a day that's pain free. In the past I went to a neurologist he gave me Zanaflex 4mg, a muscle relaxer to help me sleep. I take 2 everynight. I also take 50mg of Topamax twice a day to prevent them. I've recently started taking the meds again b/c I'm so tired of this unrelenting pain. I also went to the chiropractor & went to physical therapy. All of which helped a lot. My finances prevent me from the chiropractic care & physical therapy. I do get massages when I have a little extra money to splurge. You can also ask your doc about Imitrex (at times it's truly a miracle drug) it's very expensive but maybe he/she can give you sample of Imitrex or other meds that are in the same class. Docs don't like to prescribe narcotic pain relievers since they're easily addictive. I also take Xanax which is similar to your Ativan to help with the stress & anxiety that can bring on the headaches. Every hour or so take a little break & stretch your neck from side to side & forward, not backward. Then massage your neck & your shoulders. It would really be nice if you have a friend, family member or mate that can do that for you as well. Use lotion as it helps the fingers glide smoothly across your muscles & reduces friction that can cause irritation. If you're lucky enough to have someone massage you, tell them not to forget the shoulder blades because tension hides there too & is an easily forgotten source of pain. They say you'll eventually grow out of them & I thought I had a few years ago, but then 2 yrs ago I got into an auto accident & suffered whiplash injury & ever since then I've been suffering all over again. I guess once those muscles are injured it doesn't take much to injure them again. Sometimes when I get a bad headache I alternate between heating pads & ice packs. I even tried Head On & it does provide some relief. I pray your headaches get better and does so quickly. At times my the pain in my is so bad I'll pass out completely or I'm so disoriented as if I were on drugs or something. I hope you never go through that. Gool luck & God Bless.

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck. Headaches can be
caused by minor problems like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more
serious reasons like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can have harmful side
effects, so it is better to modify your lifestyle. More information

i honestly feel your pain! i've had to cut back slowly on the caffeine, it was the only way to get away from caffeine, so now when i drink it, i get a headache...however, this has not completely stopped my migraines either, but has slowed them down. which is a blessing!!!!

my doctor prescribed elavil (amitriptyline) at one point to take at bedtime. he told me i could take up to 50 mg, but it made me feel too drugged and i could only take 25mg.

stay with your doctor and find what works best for you!

take care!!!

Hey sexpert, your far from an expert. You answered one of my question, which wasn't helpful in the least. And it's not that un-common for teens to masturbate more than once a day and there is no need for name calling. Are you here to piss people off or answer questions?
