No, whether you oversleep or undersleep, it doesn't change the next days sleep. You should get different amounts of sleep at different stages in your life but as a rule of thumb, get your 6-8 hours....whether or not you over/underslept the night prior.

No, you can't "catch up" or "carry over" sleep. It's 8 hours sleep EACH night.
However, everyone has different sleep needs. You may be perfectly fine on your 4-6 hours sleep. It just wouldn't have anything to do with how much you slept the night before or after.

no longer all people demands 8 consecutive hours of sleep a evening, only you your self can tell how a lot sleep you particularly choose for. in case you experience properly-rested, waiting and keen to stand up after 6 hours, this is probable all something you choose for for that distinctive evening. i've got faith the quantity of sleep you require each and each evening varies based on your value of activity for the time of the day, no remember in case you had a snooze in some unspecified time interior the destiny interior the day, while your final stable sleep turn into etc. you be conscious of once you're drained and your physique/techniques will wake itself up while this is completely rested (think of of a morning once you have been waiting to sleep in). those are your cues as to how a lot sleep you choose for. additionally, this is extremely common to tell once you're no longer functioning at your superb (clumsiness, lack of ability to pay interest, emotional volatility etc.), this could be a stable indication which you're drained and have not slept or gotten adequate sleep.

no it doesn't work like that, however, not getting a full nights rest once in a while isn't a big deal.
