There are five classes of illegal drugs, Schedule1-5.
Schedule 1 is most serious illegal drug category: Heroin, morphine, MDA, XTC, LSD, Qualuudes.
Schedule 2 Opium and less pure morphine and codeine, oxycontin. Meth or amphetamine. PCP and its precursors, meth precursors
Schedule 3 Phen-phen, steroids, Marinol (synthetic THC), LSD precursors
Schedule 4 Valium, clonipan and other benzo's, various psychiatric medications, non narcotic prescription pain meds, or someone elses prescription drugs
Schedule 5 for very small amounts of pain pills like Tylenol 3 and 4 with codeine.
Marijuana is strangely classified as a Schedule 1 drug, but it's posession is not a jailable offense in California and some other states for under an ounce.

A substance clasified as a drug by the FDA (some sort of chemical with an effect on the body other than basic nutrition) which is outlawed by a government (probably the United States or one of the States) for consumption, possesion, or sale.

LOL, if you have to ask.....................................it's probably illegal. OTC (Over the Counter) meds are OK if you get them for yourself and not the whole neighborhood, then the police will take a real interest in you.
If you take a prescribed med that is not for you, say one that is for your family member or friend or someone on the street that is illegal and you can get in mucho trouble, so can the person who gave it to you, even if they were well intended.
Example. I legally get medication for Migraines, my brother gets the exact same med., if I was to give him mine, I could go to jail, so could he, so there you go, just say no
