On wednesday I accidently shut my cat's tail in the door, as I fumbled to open it he tore the crap out of my right foot. It has 16 puncture wounds, mainly on the back where he grabbed it to try to pull himself forward, and several scratches on the front. He'd just been outside, so his claws were probably dirty.

So the long and short of it is that two of the worst puncture wounds around the ankle are swollen, very very tender, red, hot, and leaking pus. The fot hurts to walk on too, and I can't sleep well.
Should I go to a doctor? Or just keep rubbing antiseptic on it? I feel pretty stupid going in for what look like small cat claw wounds, but it hurts like hell.

At least on one other occasion this happen to me;the inside of my but cheeks suddenly become very itchy and very uncomfortable, the only thing I can do to relieve the itching is to wipe my butt. But does anyone know what's cuasing this itching and what if anything can I do to keep it from happening again?

Today I ate an apple, a few oatmeal raisin bars, and some nuts so far; is it something I'm eating or what?

I'd greatly appriciate an answer and solution for this problem?:-)

I WAS IN THE AUDITORIUM AT SCHOOL AND I WAS DIRECTING A PLAY AND I NOTICED THAT A LIGHT WAS OUT SO I ASKED TO CLIMB UP TO THE CAT WALK AND TAKE CARE OF IT. I PLAYED WITH THE WIRES AND COULDNT GET IT TO WORK SO I OPENED THE BACK OF THE LIGHT. I PULLED THE BULB TO TRY TO GET IT OUT TO CHANGE IT. WHEN I PULLED THE BULB THE BULB CAME OUT BUT THE SOCET PART DID NOT. I PULLED THE SOCET PART AND THAT IS WHEN IT HAPPEND. IT MADE MY MUCSLES CONTRACT AND IT HELD ME THERE WHICH SEEMED LIKE FOREVER. I HAD TO SCREAM DOWN TO THE CLASS TO TURN THE LIGHT BOARD OFF. WHEN IT WAS OFF I WAS ABLE TO GET FREE AND I STOOD UP. I WAS STILL ON ADRINALIN WHEN I CAME DOWN THE LADDER AS FAST AS I COULD. WHEN I GOT DOWN I SAW THESE HUGE BLISTER LIKE THINGS ON MY LEFT HAND AND IT CAUSED ELECTRICAL BURNS. THEY HAD TO CALL AN AMBULANCE AND ALL THE SCHOOL OFFICIALS WERE THERE WITHIN 2 MINUTES. I KNOW NOW THAT I COMPLETED THE CIRCUT WITH MY THUMB AND INDEX FINGER ON MY LEFT HAND. TELL ME UR THOUGHTS, PLEASE!

This happens when the temp goes below 50 degrees...even when I don't have a cold. It's not allergies, either..as far as I know, unless I'm allergic to the cold!! And I don't like having to take Sudofed when I'm not actually sick. Are there any homeopathic cures for this?? Thanks!

This might be in the wrong category, I don't know. If you think it is, tell me. Okay, me, I'm shy around new people still. And I'm not over other people's houses that much. I kinda hate being a guest in someone's home. And it makes me feel a little uneasy thinking about taking a shower in someone else's home, I don't know why. But if it's been a long enough time, you need to take a shower or something. You have to do what you have to do though. Answer the question and do not assume anything about me cause you do not know me. I am sometimes insecure about myself and I doubt myself sometimes, which I don't know why and wish I could be a little bit different, a little more secure.

I have had a very unwell feeling for the last two days. Fairly often I feel a something that i can only describe like a sharp 'dizzy' feeling or like a mild electric shock type feeling in my head.
I think it has something to do with alcohol abuse. I have been a acute everyday drinker for a few years now and I had stop drinking only in the last 2 or 3 days. Since then I have started to have this pain / discomfort.
Is there something more wrong or do i need to worry about this? I feel nausea as well and have been spitting up blood today.
Are these the symptom of acute alcohol withdrawel or something else? Apart from going to the Dr next week, what is the best thing I can do to feel a bit better?

I have been diagnosed with a staph infection. I have noticed also in the last 4 days I have been having to urinate MORE than once an hour, even waking in the night. I always go a lot. Today my urine turned a bright almost flourescent yellow/orange and I was wondering if staph could show itself in the body that way, or if purhaps I have a UTI or bladder/kidney infection as well? Any SERIOUS advice would be greatly appreciated.

Before I started my new teaching job, I was not out of shape, but I hadn't been super active, either. My classroom is located upstairs and the stairway is about 15 to 18 steps.
I started work on Aug.14th. It was tough at first with sore legs and heavy breathing after each climb. As I got stronger, stair-climbing became easier. Best of all, I began losing weight!
However, my workload increased (paper grading, lessonplans, etc.), and I have begun toting a backpack (loaded down with books) as well as my purse and lunch. In addition to that, I roll a wheeled briefcase (also loaded down), which I also carry up the stairs.
This past Friday, I worked late and noticed a slight knee pain in the back of my left knee each time I went up the stairs. Before leaving, my knee had begun to swell and was very painful. It is most painful on stairs. Slightly painful when walking.
I was curious to know if anyone had an idea of what problem might be and/or what treatment might be involved.

I have a bad knee that has given me problems since I was 11. I'm 46 and started back exercising. I'm overweight and need to lose, I know that, but when exercising this past week I've injured my old "football" knee. (I've previously dislocated it twice and was dx'd with chondromalacia a long time ago). I just basically avoid stairs and don't put a lot of strain on it, avoid sitting in one position where it will lock up on me. What type of knee brace would be best? There are a LOT of different types. Any one brand better than another?

I have had problems with my kneecap moving on me for years. I have had no recent problems but I went exercising last week and was using the aerobic step, and they have this one machine where you place it on your shoulders and bend your knees, stooping into a sitting position like you are sitting in a chair. I started having pain in my knee after that, and it's been giving out on me when I put weight on it. Now today I have the sensation of a rubber band snapping on the inside of my kneecap, and there is a lot of pain. What does all this signal? Does anyone recognise any of the warning signs I'm having and can you guess as to what is wrong? I did have an mri done about 12-15 years ago and they told me the lining inside my kneecap was thinning from the injuries (I'd dislocated my kneecap several times from age 11 to my 30's, which is why it moves on me, the ligaments are loose on each side is what I was told)...I don't have medical insurance right now.

Does anyone know what the problem may be, a blood problem or something, i think im anaemic im only 17, and it may have nothing to do with it. But is there anything i can put on it, apart from arnica, which hasnt done anything for a week. Thank you
