my husband is allergic to shrimp...he is also allergic to all shell fish. I think it is the high iodine in them. if you want to find out for sure go to an allergist and have then test you for shrimp, lobster and crab. better to not eat them until you know for sure.

I would also get an epi pen because sometimes when you eat out they fry some regular food in the same grease they fry the seafood in. I know my husband has gotten a reaction eating french Fry's at a restaurant that also serves seafood.

Here's a website for you to look at:http://www.foodallergyinitiative.org/section_home.cfm?section_id=3&sub_section_id=4
Apparently, if you are allergic to shrimp, you are generally allergic to all shellfish. Do you have an allergic reaction (hives, itchiness, etc) or do you have an anaphylactic reaction (swollen throat, difficulty breathing, drop in blood pressure)? If you have anaphylactic reactions to shellfish, be sure to carry an epi-pen, prescribed by your doctor, just in case you come into contact with something that has some kind of shellfish in it.
Hope this helps!
