I used to work in a kitchen of a nursing home. Sometimes I'd converse with residents and about thier need. Suddenly, someone falls and splits thier head open and it's bledding. My reaction in to get some towels and some ice and call a nurse. The nurse on the other hand, gets a book out, and starts reading about causes of falls and head injuries. Am I right to adminster to a person in immediate need for health care now? Or is the nurse right for reading in a book as to the cause of the symptoms? I saw an immediate need to help the injured person. The nurse however, say the need to analize the paitent who now has a pool of blood and a giant bump on thier head, by reading about it in some medical book. Isn't there a difference between health treatment when needed now, versus long term health history and care in the long range? No wonder people die from "text book health care mentality" workers. Am I barking up the wrong tree?

I called ahead and told them I was going to be late because there was construction tying up traffic, then parking was a nightmare. When the technician took me in, I had to practically run down the hallway to keep up to her. I laid on the table, she she was very rough when she was pulling down my underwear then told me to finish myself, then raised the table very quickly and roughly,(all the while my bladder is very full which is painful) then lectured me about being late, and how they have schedules to keep and I was cutting into her lunch time. I was being very nice to her and doing everthing she told me to and she continued to be rude, snap at me and cut me off while I was trying to ask questions. I felt bad for being late, I don't make a habit of it. I was very close to ending the appointment right then & there. I'd like to hear what some medical professionals have to say about this. Should I send in a letter of complaint?

I need proof my immunizations are current to apply to graduate school. I don't think my pediatrician is even practicing anymore, I'm 32. I have a hep B titre and am getting TB test, but where can I get proof of my MMR, polio, etc.? Can titres be drawn for these as well?

I'm not terribly overweight (160lbs 5'8"), but my shins hold an imprint when I push on them. And I mean hold for about ten to 45 minutes. Do everyone's legs do that? Why are mine?

OK, I know I should've been wearing shoes #1.

So beyond that fact, I pulled the stem from my foot and apparently there is a piece still embedded under the really thick skin. Now it's sore, red, and swollen. How do I remove the tiny piece still in my foot or will it come out on it's own?

I believe that I caught a really bad flu from my classmates - they've all been sick lately. Anyway, I started off with only a little bit of coughing and runny nose, now my lymph gland is frigging swollen and I've loss my voice when I woke up this morning. I'm not on health insurance at this moment so I'd love to try out some useful home remedies before spending my $$$ on the doctor. Can somebody give me some help?

Thanks :)

I had a toenail removed on each foot, and they injected a local anesthetic into my toes. More than 24 hours later my toes are extremely numb. I called the doctor this morning and they said it could last a little bit, but I am wondering how long this will last. It is uncomfortable!
