I called ahead and told them I was going to be late because there was construction tying up traffic, then parking was a nightmare. When the technician took me in, I had to practically run down the hallway to keep up to her. I laid on the table, she she was very rough when she was pulling down my underwear then told me to finish myself, then raised the table very quickly and roughly,(all the while my bladder is very full which is painful) then lectured me about being late, and how they have schedules to keep and I was cutting into her lunch time. I was being very nice to her and doing everthing she told me to and she continued to be rude, snap at me and cut me off while I was trying to ask questions. I felt bad for being late, I don't make a habit of it. I was very close to ending the appointment right then & there. I'd like to hear what some medical professionals have to say about this. Should I send in a letter of complaint?

As a former office manager for a medical clinic, I would most definitely make a complaint. I would honestly call it in to the office manager, rather than send a letter. They have a way of not making it to the right people.
That tech had no right to treat you that way and should take a course in Customer Service.
Playing the devils advocate for a brief moment though- it probably wasn't relayed to her that you called ahead and said that you would be late. But that still doesn't give her the right to treat you or any patient that way.

Not a medical professional, however this technician knows the parameters with which she can operate in. Most offices are so short staffed that snootiness and rude behavior have become common place. I would say to assuage your anxiety to write the doctor a letter or the office manager of the facility.

If at all possible try to change to a doctor with a smaller practice that can spend more time with patients and not perform what I refer to as cookie cutter medicine.

There is no excuse for treating a patient/or person that way. I'm sorry you had to go thru this. Yes, Her boss needs to hear about this. I would have gotten off the table right then an If you write a letter to her boss on how she ruined the experience for you, who knows, they may tell you you can have another one at no charge so you can see your baby without being rushed and barked at.

There is no excuse for treating a pregnant woman roughly. If you were so late that it messed up their schedule, they should have told you on the phone to reschedule for another time (unless the u/s was an emergency). People are late all the time. You are a customer in their care, and unless they're treating you for free, they are getting a lot of money for your prenatal care and eventual birth. You deserve to be treated with respect.

I'm sorry you had to go through that. Under no circumstances should you have been treated poorly. Whether you were late or not.

File a complaint. They could have rescheduled you if they beleived it would have held them up. Everyone should be treated with dignity and respect when they are going to a health care provider for services.

Call on the phone & ask to speak to the office manager & complain. You being late or not, there is NO NO NO excuse for treatment like that. THis individual needs to be reprimanded for her unprofessional behavior.

I would definatley make a complaint, there is no excuse, late or not, for a patient to be mistreated.
