My father always complains that I am studying without adequette light and yet I can see just fine. I am 21 and only use reading glasses with a very small magnification of 1.00. Do I need my room to be lit up like the sun or what?

hello paleja here dear

Dear sweet student never careless about our own health.
Do you know how can you see the object? it is because of dilatation and constriction of your pupil. If the light is not adequate your pupil try to dilate more and if light is sufficient your pupil get proper dilatation and you can read the book very well without strain.
It increase the space of transfering the image of object over the optic nerve and after some time you get the problem .

golden tip is always read in sufficient light not inaddequate or nor more flashing light .But adequate light.......

I would be careful with the word ruin, but I certainly think that it strains your eyes and can cause headaches.
