This might be in the wrong category, I don't know. If you think it is, tell me. Okay, me, I'm shy around new people still. And I'm not over other people's houses that much. I kinda hate being a guest in someone's home. And it makes me feel a little uneasy thinking about taking a shower in someone else's home, I don't know why. But if it's been a long enough time, you need to take a shower or something. You have to do what you have to do though. Answer the question and do not assume anything about me cause you do not know me. I am sometimes insecure about myself and I doubt myself sometimes, which I don't know why and wish I could be a little bit different, a little more secure.

It may not be happening daily that you are compelled to take shower at others house and when situation compels you to stay at someones house, then you have no choice except to take shower and you should not feel uncomfortable or insecure since this is a small and timely issue in life and you have no other choices left except to accept the facts. People travel from one place to another and use different kind of showers since they have no choice and simply adjust with the situation of time and forget about homely atmosphere. Please try to learn to live and adjust with situations in life and you will always be comfortable and never feel insecure. I agree that in new places, one feels shy when people around but it is part of life and learn to adjust otherwise you will have to remain attached to your own house only.

You are not alone. I have similar feelings.. Example:

I had to spend a couple of days at my Aunt's house -- problems with my apartment. Not only did I feel uncomfortable in showering, I felt I had to ask her permission to do it! And this is my favorite Aunt who has given me a key to her house!!!

Worse than that, I did not want to have a bowel movement there, so I waited until one of the trips to check on my apartment and tried then (no urge). Alas, I did have the urge back at her house. I was mortified... Lit a candle that was in the bathroom...

You are who you are, and best of luck to you... (I was so glad to get home to my own familiar place!)

Insecure people of the world, unite!

About 15 yrs ago, I was in my apartment showering when a guy I knew came into my house and stripped off and got into the shower with me. I was flipping out and told him to get out. I grabbed a towel and locked myself in my bedroom and he finally left. I probably should have turned him into the police, but it was my word against his and they probably would not have believed me.
You feel how you feel and I think your normal, so dont feel like your different.

i does no longer mission. i think self concious at the same time as i'm at a motel or a acquaintances living house. I sorta sense disgusted too even although i recognize they keep their own bathe sparkling. I continually lock the door at the same time as i'm replacing.
