It's still very very purple and doesnt seem to be going to the yellow stage which is the remenents of the red blod cells...billiruben. It isn't sensitive like a bruise is usually tender to touch. Does anyone know what the problem may be, a blood problem or something, i think im anaemic im only 17, and it may have nothing to do with it. But is there anything i can put on it, apart from arnica, which hasnt done anything for a week. Thank you

There really isn't much you can do or put on a bruise to make it heal faster sorry... The bruise might hang around for many weeks depending on how you got it and how deep of a bruise it is. If the bruise is deep which it sounds like to me the yellowing might take up to 2 weeks to appear all the tissue underneath has to start healing before you see any results or color changes. it also might start to itch but it's all normal... if it's not hurting you then the healing process started.. I still have bruises on my legs for an accident in July... Sorry i couldn't give you a way to heal quicker... but i hope i eased your mind a little bit...

Like many people have already said, bruising takes a while to heal and it varies from person to person. Your skin tone also has a part in it. I am white to the point of being clear in some areas so when I bruise, it really shows up. Put that same bruise on someone of a dark complexion and it's not so bad.
Your body may just take a while to re-absorb the blood. A good bruise on my leg will usually last about 2 weeks and I am 20 and not anemic.
I have a bone bruise on my shin that has been there for about 5 months so I really don't think you have anything to be alarmed about.

It sounds like just a regular bruise. Some people take longer for the bruise to heal and depending on how much you bruised it, it may take a few weeks for it to disapear. If it is bothering you, by all means, go to the doctor and get it looked at. You may want to ice it also, or for future information, if you bruise yourself immediately apply ice. The ice shrinks the cappilaries and keeps bruising to a minimum.

First thing is dont worry, bruises can take ages to go, it is a minor form of internal bleeding, give it another week and if it still hasnt started to fade then see a doctor.

If you are worried, go to the doctor for a blood test to see if you are anemia.

Then you can start eating healthy or food that provide the nutrition.

Also, for your bruises, it might be wise to start taking vitamin E as its good to skin.

Like you said, you are only 17, so look after yourself and health is important!!!

Wishing you all the best and take care. :)
