Try....2 teaspoons of sugar on back of tongue and swallow as quick as possible. Thats good for occasional hiccups. It relaxes the diagram which is involved making the hiccups.
However, your hiccups are likely being caused by something else, that likely requires medical attention (the condition causing the hiccups). If it continues up to bedtime and interrupts your ability to fall asleep, you'll need to see your doctor or ER. But since you're having pain now and feeling sick, its really time now to go to the doc.

Hiccups work differently in different people. Well, here's my 2 cents worth.

Make a large cup of warm chamomile tea, or a glass of warm milk, and drink v-e-r-y slowly in regular, even gulps. And mentally tell your throat and lungs to calm down and relax.

Before drinking, you can try the breath-holding. Hold as long as you can, then let it out very slowly and completely empty your lungs of air. And also do the mental relaxation technique.

Good luck!

The very best method to stopping hiccups is to dring water from a glass from the opposite side of the glass. It's tricky to do, and you have to lean over considerably, but it indeed does work. It's not oftent that I get the hiccups, but it does the trick. Hopefully it works for you!

well, you've tried drinking water, but have you tried drinking water "backwards"? first, take the cup, then instead of putting your lips to the side of the rim that's closest to you, put them to the rim that's farther away from you. then, you drink the water by leaning forward. it has worked every single time for me.

if that doesn't work, or if you don't understand it, then you could try, like, hyperventilating at a really random pace. what this does is it kinda shakes up your diaphragm so that it stops spasming, and therefore stops giving you hiccups.

if that doesn't work, then you could, or you could have someone help you, hit your diaphragm, the area right at the place where your two sides of your rib cage meet in front. this is very risky, though, and i've never tried it before, i've just heard my brother say that it works.

good luck.

Believe me or not, if you drink water "up-side down" this will cure your hiccups,All you have to do is bend over forward and drink the water so you will be drinking up-side down.I do this every time i have the hiccups and it works like magic !!!

My mothers remedy is a glass of warm water and a tbl spoon full of sugar and drinkn it quickly.... what i do is simply hold my breath (but suck in breath so much so that it feels like your lungs are gonna burst) and swallow seven times that always works for me!! ~Cheers!~
