This is for a health paper on STDS. I was assigned syphilis, and I haven't been able to track down this answer-- which sex finds out about being infected first? Male or female?

Information would be very helpful!

my friend was asking me a question. i couldnt answer him he was seeing this woman who told him she hadnt slept with her husband or hadnt had sex with her husband in over.3. years hhe. my friend took it as a joke . well yes he had sex with her. right in her own home she was in her.40.s he was. in his.teen.s now he has after .3.week.s noticed a discharge from his penis. and he told me that he noticed a green substance in her panties . and at times he. has a driping from his penis he stated as well

I am deathly afraid of getting an STD (i'm a virgin) and I know I won't get it from sex. But, I've heard people say you can get some stds just from touching people, hugging, sleeping in the same bed as someone with it. If so, can I get crabs from sitting at a desk where someone with crabs sat at school, using a public toilet seat at school or any public place, etc.? Please help.

ok first a little background, i had one sexual partner before this weekend, and recently had a std test and im clean.....2 nights ago i had sex with a girl ive been seeing for a month now...i used a condom....but we gave each other oral sex, neither me nor her had any cuts or sores etc of anykind.....im a little paranoid cuz i have something on the side of my lip, which is prolly a zit which i get time to time in that area....i feel fine but still nervous cuz i never asked if she got tested....what are the chances i have herpes or any other std.......no wise asses plz

My fiance wants to make a blood promise, in a romantic setting under the moon or somethin... we're both going to prick our index fingers with a needle and we'll have our fingers touch as we say our vows to each other...cheesy I know...but hey I think it's romantic.

Is it bad if our blood mixes like that? Could we die or get really sick from that? I think we're the same blood type...but if hypothetically we weren't...would this be bad? (and no neither of us have HIV lol)

i just found out i had genital herpes. my doctor said its my first outbreak cause she took my blood and i guess is able to tell if its a reccuring outbreak or new. Whatever, she said one came back pos. and the other neg. wich ment that it was my first outbreak. She says that the first outbreak occurs 2-5 weeks after contact with the virus, i asked her if i could have had it dorment for years she said no because this is my only outbreak. we have been together for four years, he was blood tested and it was neg. for herpes.. so tell me... how did i get it sexually? i know of a child at my daycare i work at who gets cold sores on his lips, he is a biter so i am constantly putting my hands on his mouth to stop him from biting. is there a chance i could have forgotten to wash my hands and then went to the bathroom and wiped... could that have been passed?

I know everyone has their own preferences, but I want to know which brand is really better.
I'm looking at Durex, Trojan and Kimono. Price doesn't matter as long as they have a very low breaking rate and it's something we both can enjoy.

Please tell me the pros and cons to these brands. (Sources appreciated if possible)

I had just been diagnosed with PID over 2 weeks ago. I started having sex after me and my husband were cured. But I still notice not pian, but sensitivity. Not pain, but sensitivity and I'm TERRIFIED that the antibiotics didn't cure it all the way evn though I took it all as I was supposed with total abstainance for the whole time. Is this normal?

Of course I know you are to tell the person BEFORE you have sex, but my question is do you tell them immediately when you start dating them, or do you wait until you know if the relationship is going to go anywhere and you are planning on sex with this person?
I ask this because I don't think it's right to put ones business out there to just anyone, but at the same time, if you are dating that person for months with no sex and then tell them and they can't deal with it, they might be upset that you didn't tell them sooner.

so my friend met this guy at work and they were friends, then they went out and had sex a few times, she asked him if he had any STDs and he said no, and he never wanted to wear a condom. She said one time she asked him to stop, but he kept going anyways. He then wouldn't call her, and she just found out today he has genital warts, and he's known the whole time he was having sex with her. I just have a few questions cuz niether of us know nothing about this infection.

A. Could there be any type of lawsuit since she asked and he knew, like that he may have purposely given it to her?
B. What are long term effects of genital warts
C. Is it curable?

I took an HIV test last year in October (2006) 6 months after the last time I had sex. I never went abck for the results because they told me they only contact people who are positive and only if I really wanted to know should I call them.

Well I called a month after the test since I never heard from them, but I missed the nurses call back and they never contacted me again. I don't really want to go get tested again since I haven't had sex since before I got tested. Thinking about that clinic gives me the chills.

Can I be sure that I'm negative?

If you were to pop a genital wart what would ooze or seep out? I popped one of these bumps inside my vagina and it bled bright red blood. Are they warts? The doctors I go to tell me they're not, but I dont believe them.

I have bacterial vaginitis and vaginosis that won't go away. It's been almost a year now since I've been plauged with it. Metro Gel worked, but I only too it for 5 days and the infection came back.

Ok I used a condom, but the last five minutes I did not. Now I am seeing some symptons of something. My Lymph Node is swollen and I have a rash on the left side of my hip. I work with children everyday in a daycare. I thought, and hope, that it is just rubella. I haven't got my blood test and according to my doctor the rash is herpes something(not the genital one)All she did is look at ii so im a little in doubt of her judgement. I recently broke up with my boyfriend and we got back together after some time. He promised me that he wasn't with anyone (and I know that there is the chance that he lied but I trust him). During the time were broken up, i kissed 2 other men but nothing more. After that, i engaged again in oral and vaginal sex with my boyfriend.

Since then, my mouth has sort of developed longish scrape like lesions, around the area where my teeth come together, and two very small, white, pimpleish dots. Also, the inside of the outer lips of my vagina have developed around 50ish small, pimpleish dots as well. Could these be normal to the skin in that area?

THey are a bit annoying but don't quite "burn". They aren't huge like the pictures I've seen, and haven't popped into open sores. I also have no discharge. I also don't have a fever, just feel like I'm getting a cold. No swollen lymph nodes. I believe these are the same as ones i had before I kissed but not quite sure
