Ok I used a condom, but the last five minutes I did not. Now I am seeing some symptons of something. My Lymph Node is swollen and I have a rash on the left side of my hip. I work with children everyday in a daycare. I thought, and hope, that it is just rubella. I haven't got my blood test and according to my doctor the rash is herpes something(not the genital one)All she did is look at ii so im a little in doubt of her judgement. Im going for a STDs test next week to check it out. I am so worried please let me kno what u think

You do have shingles not an STD. It's the same virus that causes chicken pox-Herpes zoster.Have any of the children you work with had chicken pox lately?
STD Symptoms start to show up after 3 months. How long have you had the rash? You would also have some other symptoms such as burning on urination, discharge from your penis etc.
Your Dr is more than likely right, she will of seen it before. But get the STD test anyway to put your mind completely at ease :)

Get on the internet. Check out all of the veneral diseases websites. Educate yourself on this topic as much as is possible.
In a way I feel very sorry for you; and yet in another way I don't.
I presume that you're not married. God, I hope not. And that you are promiscous. Yes?
Well, we live and hopefully learn sometimes. I trust that you have learnt from your experiences.
Do you have someone you can go to? If not, you might want to consult a psycho-therapist, or a religious counsellor if you have a religion.
Man, I feel for you. I've had similar problems in the past, and it was extremely difficult for me to deal with.
An idea, consider it for what ever you think its worth. I'm not catholic, but I remember an instance one time when I was in your exact dilema; and I went to a church operated by a monastic order. Asked to see a priest. One came, I broke down and cried like a baby. And I don't remember what he said, but I was grateful to have a shoulder to lean upon.
Sometimes in an instance such as yours, a total stranger can sometimes help us in an unforseeable way. Think about it.
I'll close my response, by reiterating what I would consider to be the bottom line for you.
Educate yourself with all availale knowledge about this topic, and seek counselling from a source such as that which I have indicated above.
Good luck to you,
Wotan

Hey sex and ur rash may not be connected BUT you shd hav a full STD test
The Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) which causes AIDS is transmitted through body fluids, in particular blood, semen, vaginal secretions and breast milk.
You can become infected with HIV through:
Unprotected sexual intercourse with an infected partner
Sharing needles when injecting or other use of contaminated injection or other skin-piercing equipment
Blood and blood products, for example, infected transfusions and organ or tissue transplants
Transmission from infected mother to child in the womb or at birth and breastfeeding
You cannot get HIV by:
Casual physical contact
Coughing, sneezing or kissing
Sharing toilet and washing facilities
Using eating utensils or consuming food and beverages handled by someone who has HIV
Mosquitoes or other insect bites
What happens if you have HIV?
HIV weakens the human body's immune system, making it difficult to fight infection. Treatments exist which can prevent the onset of AIDS and although there are side effects, a person can lead a healthy, active life with a long life expectancy if they respond well to treatment. However, they can still transmit the infection to others.
Early symptoms of AIDS include:
Chronic fatigue
Diarrhoea
Fever
Mental changes such as memory loss
Weight loss
Persistent cough
Severe recurrent skin rashes
Herpes and mouth infections
Swelling of the lymph nodes
Opportunistic diseases such as cancers, meningitis, pneumonia and tuberculosis may also take advantage of the body's weakened immune system.
Is there a cure?
Treatments exist which can prevent the onset of AIDS and allow periods of illness to be followed by periods of remission. However, there is no cure for AIDS. Research is currently under way into vaccines, but none is viable as yet.
How does HIV transmission occur?
HIV is a fragile virus, which can only survive in a limited range of conditions. It can only enter the body through naturally moist places and cannot penetrate unbroken skin. Prevention therefore involves ensuring that there is a barrier to the virus, for example condoms, and that skin-piercing equipment is not contaminated
Best of Luck wit ur results, im sure ull b fine

I would definitely say to use the condom the whole time, kinda doesn't protect you from std's and pregnancy if you take if off in the last 5 minutes.
Anyhow, in answer to your question I would say that you would have started to see symptoms before now. I would definitely make an appointment with the doctor to confirm if what you have is contagious. If the "rash" is only on your hip, you can cover this so that you don't risk anyone coming in contact with it. And of course, wash your hands if you touch it. Try using a cortizone cream on the rash, it won't hurt to try and see if that helps.

Genital herpes:
A common infection caused by the herpes simplex virus type 2 or type 1.
Type 1 is commonly acquired through oral sex, while type 2 is transmitted through sexual intercourse.
Symptoms include small blisters in the genital area which rapidly break down to leave painful ulcers.
Other symptoms include pain or difficulty in passing urine. Some patients may develop headache and fever.
Herpes infection during late pregnancy is potentially dangerous to the baby during labour.
Herpes is a life-long chronic condition which cannot be cured.
However, there are antiviral drugs available which can reduce the severity of symptoms.
Please see the web pages for more details on STDs and images of Herpes simplex infections.

What your doctor meant by not the genital one is because the herpes complex virus, is carried by anyone who had a bout of chicken pox.
The virus recesses somewhere along your spinal cord and comes out when one is usually under stress, but not necessarily. I know because this was explained to me when I developped shingles, which is one of the herpes complex virus, I was lucky enough to seek medical attention within the first three days of first outbreak and was prescribed antibiotics that were strong and fairly new but could only be administered if within the three days inclusively.
I later saw pictures of patients breaking out with this where mine did, the virus usually attacks an area where your nerves are the weakest, my eyesight is the weakest and this is where it attacked my right ocular nerve, it started as a welt that hurt when touched on my scalp so the first morning when I brushed my hair I felt it right away and it progressed to the begining of the third day to affect my eye so I seeked medical attention.
Shingles are painful, and difficult if around your midrift, get tested and do as your doctor says I'm glad I did. They can reoccur too I was told especially under stressful times.

You are being really paranoid. Work with kids and you got sick! Must be an STD. COme on! Get it together. You obviously have issues with sex and need to see someone for psychological help, you are so consumend with guilt you are actually looking for a way to punish yourself. Good luck.

Doesn't sound like pregnancy.
as far as I no most sexually trasmitted things are treatable so I wouldn't worry. If it was H.I.V then you probably wouldn't be seeing any symtoms.
I would hold out for the test. Good luck.
