Yesterday, the House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act, a bill that promises to extend protection from violent or discriminatory acts of hate to gay and lesbian Americans.

In a shocking turn of events, even for this administration, President Bush has threatened to veto this anti-hate bill. With the overwhelming congressional and public support for this legislation, many are asking who the President could possibly be serving with such a commitment; the answer unfortunately is the religious right.

Over the last few months the religious right has waged a deceptive campaign opposing this pro-equality legislation. They have employed a range of excuses; Chuck Colson compared the law to something out of George Orwell's famous novel 19841, Tony Perkins has stated that the legislation is “contrary to our heritage and our values,”2 and just this week James Dobson told listeners of Focus on the Family Radio, “there’s a vote coming up on some insidious legislation in the United States Congress that could silence and punish Christians for their moral beliefs. That means that as a Christian – if you read the Bible a certain way with regard to morality – you may be guilty of committing a ‘thought crime.”3

Hi Guys,
I recently had a pain in my right armpit. When I pushed down I could feel a small lump. Around this time I had a sore throat and noticed that some of the lymph nodes in my neck were swollen as well. Scared, I went down and had an HIV test done. This was after about 11½ weeks after last having sex. The test came up negitive. Since then the lymph nodes in my neck are no longer swollen but not there are several small lumps under my armpit. Not directly in my armpit but just below it. They are very small, but hard and a little painful. I have also noticed a lump in my groin area, but that as well is small and does not hurt when I press on it. This has been going on for a couple weeks now. I went to see a doctor and he told me to come back in a week if it had not gone away. Has anyone ever had this happen to them? Any recommendations?

about 5 months ago i recieved oral and about 2 weeks later i had to pee every 15-20 mins and it was only a little with time and doctor visits it much better but i drip urine all day long and have stinging at the tip..DR's have told me im clean...iv had blood,urine test that are ok....sometimes i feel like i got to go and time when im ok...whats the deal...i dont have cylm/gon. what could this be?

Do you fear getting HIV/AIDS? or is it just everyday illness? I am preoccupied w/ HIV. Reading on hypochondriasis, most concerns are w/ cancer and sicknesses like that but mine is HIV! Anyone else fear this?

Recently i discovered that i've have what painfully looks like HSV-2. From what I know, genital herpes can only be contracted by intercourse with someone who already has it which is impossible in my case because I never had intercourse, I'm not even legal.

From what I see, it looks like exactly like acne with a white blotch in the middle and red around but doesn't appear in clusters like what I've read, there only is one. I'd like to stay optimistic and say that this is just one messed up case of acne and puberty.

I also read that it cannot be contracted from things like toilet seats and others.

What are your views on my case? All the evidence points away from what I think it is but the devil's advocate's playing inside me keeps me from thinking the best.

I tested positive for HSV2 and mononucleosis a few years ago - based on a blood test - soon after I received the chicken pox vaccination. However, I have never had any symptoms associated with either. Since they are all different strains of the Herpes virus, is it possible the vaccination caused a false positive?

First question, how long does it usually take until you notice you can have genital herpes? And when you get tested fpr HPV, does it also check gential herpes? For instance, if you were negative on the HPV test would that apply to genital herpes too?

i recently had sex with a girl who had sex with a guy before me that she is concerned may have something. she told me today that they did not need to prick her or use any needles at the clinic during the testing. does this mean she did not test for everything or are there other ways to test for everything. this is important due to not knowing if i should trust her if everything tests ok. i would just like to know if there are other ways to test for all diseases. thanks.

This dude I had been banging gave me herpes. When I told him about it he act like he was stupid! I dont fool with his triffling tail anymore but I know where he stay... what now? I dont wanna do anything where it can come back to me,.. but its bothering me to know that this sucka dont even care!!!! After a brief sexual encounter at the beginning of the year, I noticed a few skin tags began appearing on my foreskin. It wasn't until a month or so later that they became greater in number. Then I sought advice from my local sexual health clinic, where I was diagnosed with HPV/ Gential Warts. I was given a solution to put on the warts and they were all gone within the space of 2 weeks.

Anyway, since then I now find myself in a stable relationship with a girl who I adore. I have not mentioned previously being infected with warts, as they are no longer visable.

At the moment we're using condoms during sex, however, now she has been on the pill for some time, I'm being pressured to have sex without a condom... is it safe to do so?... without her contracting warts!

Because I'm under the impression from the information gathered on the net, that I'll forever be infected with the virus & am susceptible to outbreaks whenever my immune system is down?!

Can hpv be transmitted through kissing a guy on the lips?

I gave two bjs and kissed many people, but I am completely a virgin, htere has never been vaginal contact with anyone or anything; so

if i had sex with someone new with or without protection, would they still contract the hpv iof i have it?

Would it not be pointless to get a pap test or whatever if the only contact I had with people was through my mouth?

Would there still be signs of it where nothing has ever been?
