Hi Guys,
I recently had a pain in my right armpit. When I pushed down I could feel a small lump. Around this time I had a sore throat and noticed that some of the lymph nodes in my neck were swollen as well. Scared, I went down and had an HIV test done. This was after about 11½ weeks after last having sex. The test came up negitive. Since then the lymph nodes in my neck are no longer swollen but not there are several small lumps under my armpit. Not directly in my armpit but just below it. They are very small, but hard and a little painful. I have also noticed a lump in my groin area, but that as well is small and does not hurt when I press on it. This has been going on for a couple weeks now. I went to see a doctor and he told me to come back in a week if it had not gone away. Has anyone ever had this happen to them? Any recommendations?

The ones in my neck are gone. I had a sore throat around that time and the doctor gave me some antibiotics that seemed to clear it up. The ones in my groin, I'm not sure if I'm feeling a ligement or something because they are on both sides and don't hurt. Not sure if I'm being paranoid :(

Lymphnodes are used to carry toxins out of the body. There may be some blockage, and they need to be addressed by your physician. It should be checked by a physician as soon as possible to be sure that it's not cancer.

well ike hot cocoa said, the nodes are there to get rid of toxins. but because of your deodorant blocking the pores under your arms, a lump develops and sometimes it doesn't hurt while other times its really tender. those usually go away and come back throuhout the year...the nodes on ur groin and neck...i don't know how to explain that... even though you had an HIV test you should tell the dr. about the lumps and possibly have all STD's checked out.
good luck

If you are so worried then a biopsy might be in order if you actually do have enlarged lymph nodes in multiple locations. You will want to rule out lymphoma.

Hopefully it's just an infection that your body is fighting off.
The Dr may want to do a blood test to check your white blood count.
