Condoms help prevent the spread of genital herpes and other STDs, but they are NOT 100% effective.

And, STDs like genital herpes and HPV can be spread by direct skin to skin contact with the infected area. So, even if the condom is covering the penis, it's not covering the entire genital area. Just the rubbing back and forth of the genital areas during sex is enough to spread the virus.

***Also genital herpes and genital warts are NOT the same thing. Genital herpes is caused by the herpes simplex virus and causes large blister like sores. Genital warts are caused by HPV (Human Papillomavirus).

Yeah condoms will protect against STD's generally as long as they remain in one piece. However, herpes can be spread through the mouth as well so that's something you should be careful of.

If you're thinking she might have an STD you might just be better off abstaining. But this is up to you.

I got diagnosed with herpes type 2 about four years ago, when I was still in college and had a stupid one night affair. I think a lot of girls will say this but I swear I never did that sort of thing. I jud made a mistake that one time and, suddenly, it seemed like I was going to have to live with it for the rest of my life. The worst part was thinking I could never date men again. After all, who wants to date a person who has blisters around her you-know-what? But after someone share this video https://tr.im/quvXh everything has changed. Not only was I able to eliminate all traces of the herpes virus from my body in less than twenty days, but I was also able to start dating again. I even met my soulmate and I'm so blessed to say that just last week, in front of many people in a restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me! This program gave me the chance to be happy again, and to experience true love.

Yes, you can spread herpes even if you don't have an actual outbreak. However, the herpes that causes oral sores usually doesn't like the vagina, so the chance of infection should be minimal. Does your girlfriend know you have herpes? I sure hope you informed her...

I am absolutely terrified and I feel so alone. I just found out last week that I tested positive for hsv1 and 2. I have been with the same man for the past 10 years and within the last year found out that he has cheated on me with numerous women. I am so scared that I can give it to my children by kissing them and them eating with me...I feel like my whole life has changed. And even though the nurses, my doctor, and websites say that a lot of people have it I still feel like I am by myself. My self esteem has dropped and I feel like I have been used up. But now, My life is very happy.
