Or can you get it another way and give it to someone by having sex with them? I guess what I'm trying to find out is: should you get the vaccination if you know you will only have sex with someone who doesn't have it?

I'll spell out all the details. My mom has tested positive for HPV, the cancer-causing agent for cervical cancer - it was detected within the past year. She and my dad have been married for over 30 years. When they got married, she was 19 and he was 20. As far as I know, they both lost their virginity with each other. Considering the time period that they grew up in and the nature of their families, it is very unlikely that either one of them had sex before they met each other. That being said, my mom definitely has HPV (the form that causes cervical cancer).

If I tell my boyfriend to get tested for hep b, will it tell us if he is 1.) currently infected and 2.) had a past infection? What is the standard test for someone who doesn't know if there vaccinated?

My eight year old daughter came home from school today and told me that she has a sore on her "bottom". (that's what she calls her vagina) Even though she was embarrassed she wanted me to see it. It is a sore about 1/4 the size of a dime and it is open and raw looking. She said it hurts. I can't remember anything like this ever happening to me as a child or as an adult. When I try to look up different causes of sores on vaginas I only find STDs. When she was 3 she was sexually abused while at a daycare. She was tested at that time for STDs and everything came back fine. Is it possible that this could be Herpes or some other STD? It was 5 years ago. Even though she was tested can something just now be showing up? I hope and pray she is ok and that this is something common that I've just never had to deal with. What do you think?

The Dr. didn't make a big deal about it so I didn't inquire further, however, I'm still curious...what does it mean that I have a wobbly cervix other than the obvious that is is "wobbly".

My father-in-law's wife of 22 years recently saw that she had an outreak of blisters 'down there.' She says she knew RIGHT AWAY it was herpes. She's been suspecting my FIL of cheating for 3-4 yrs and when she saw the blisters flew into a rage, threw stuff at him and kicked him out and served him divorce papers. Next she went to the doc & it's confirmed. It is genital herpes.
I've spoken with both and their stories each sound solid. My FIL swears up and down that he's never cheated ad shows no signs of herpes. Even when my 'quasi-hubby' asked him & swore not to tell me or anyone if he had cheated.
I'm torn. Both stories sound 110% solid. It's nuts.

Hey, kinda wierd question but is anyone here currently/ previously dating or married to anyone who has HIV. Cause right now I know someone who jsut told me they are and I still really like him and I'm not just going to abandon him because of one detail. It's still really fricken hard to cope with, so does any one have any advice or suggestions/ precautions I should know about.
( p.s if it matters we haven't had sex yet so theres no issue with me getting it from him)

Feel free to tell a huge long story I promise ill read each and every one, and no smartass answers either cause right now I don't think I could take it.

i had sex with prostitute in her room in lodge after that i went to take bath and washed by genitals with a soap which was present, i was worrying if i did right thing or wrong, since the soap was lying there she must be using it, so is it possible that soap had some virus already there , and when i used that soap i would have got infected, instead of trying to clean any virus which i might have got during sex , is it possible i got virus through soap

Say you go and take this HIV test where you get the result in 20 minutes. It does test your blood cos they prick you finger to draw blood. How accurate is this test at 4 months after a possible exposure?
