Can you get a STD if you only had intercourse with one person in your whole life. We are both each others first and only, sometimes we don't use protection but we never slept with anyone else. I know an STD is sexually transmitted but is that only if one person already has it.

like three or four if they've been there for a long time? An old "friend" told me he had an accident at work where he got hit in the area with a pole and it scraped the skin off the head of his penis...through his pants!?!?!?! Could this be possible?? He said he went to the doctor and they gave him an ointment...but told him it would be ok. He said it doesn't hurt and its not contagious...could he be lying? HELP???? Its like a redish color...like healing skin...its not blistery or anything. The bumps have been there for about 5 or six years and they kinda look like pimples. : (

I'm planning on having sex with my boyfriend for the first time pretty soon. I've been on the pill for about a month. We're both virgins and he hasnt been with any other girls sexually. So why is it bad to have sex without a condom if we know we both dont have any sort of STD?

I went to the ER and was told I have vaginitis. At first I thought the bumps were genital herpes, but I was given an STD free bill health and sent home with some pills. The pills didn't make the irritation go away and now I'm having a problem with burning. I bought Vagisil and its only helping with the itching. Along with that more bumps appeared and they were bigger and burned and itched but they went away after two weeks. The original bumps are still there. Could I have been misdiagnosed with vaginitis and it's actually genital herpes?

okay so you know that your blood has a ph balance of about 7.35 right? if it is to basic (below 7) bacteria grows in in and if it is too acidic,(above 7) nothing grows in it. so if you were to really acidize your blood, would it kill the AIDS?

I was diagnosed with cervical dyspalsia and went for in for a colposcopy and biopsy (ECC). No punch biopsy was done. The results came back negative (thank God), but I have to go back in 6 months for another PAP. I am confused as to whether or not I have HPV. Has anyone been through this? I am going to call my doctor on Monday to have him explain things more clearly.

I have been in a committed relationship for about 3 yrs now and he is the only one I have ever been with. Recently i had thought I was pregnant so went to an OBGYN bc had not had my period in over 3 mths. They did a pap smear, ran a pregnancy test with my urine and also ran tests on my blood. My blood work came back normal but they found I had chlamydia. My bf swears he has never cheated but also admits that he never tested for STDs in his lifetime so he had this before we got together. I have never had a pap smear prior to this and now looking back I remember having symptoms of chlamydia almost 2 yrs ago after we first had sex. I simply was unaware that they were symptoms of the infection. I was very upset by the news but have had it cleared it up and had my bf treated as well. I'm wondering however if they tested for HIV when they ran my blood work. If I had HIV would it show up when they tested my blood? Thanks

i.e.:

Do you feel that oral sex is safe? Why, or why not?
Do you trust in your partner to where wearing a condom just isn't necessary; as the two of you are monogamous?
With casual sex, one night stands, do you honestly feel that a 25 cent condom is worth the risk? Hence, willing to gamble that it want tear?
Do you believe that you are less likely to come in contact with HIV because you are very selective and just don't sleep with anyone?
How many mornings have you awakened (sometimes in a strange bed) and asked yourself why in the hell you did what you did?

I have been getting canker sores lately, and I went to the doctor here at my university. The doctor said that canker sores are caused by herpes, however research that I did on the internet says that canker sores have nothing to do with herpes.

in my health class i learned that IgG tests are different from IgM tests (or something like that) in that the IgG tests for past exposure and the other tests for the actual presence of the infection being tested for (chlamydia). if an IgG test comes up positive can someone have had exposure to chlamydia without actually contracting it? i also learned that it is about 60% effective in comparison to a vaginal probe or urine test at 90-98% effective. if anyone has insight let me know with as much detail/information as possible
