Is there such thing as a cold sore not caused by herpes type 1?

I REALLY wanted you to know that you can EASILY never have to deal with another horrible, awful, nasty cold-sore for the rest of your life!!
I got them every winter my whole life until 3 years ago (I'm 36 now) and they were the BANE of my existence...the whole process took weeks to heal and would leave a scar for at least 2 months sometimes!
I was reading a message board on www.curezone.org and discovered the PERFECT remedy for both healing them and preventing them completely:

Nope, if you get cold sores, then that leads to some kind of herpes, whether its genitaly or oraly..its still herpes

Nope. Sorry. cold sore=herpes. So does chicken pox and several other conditions.

Well I've had cold sores before I had sex. So it doesn't always lead to herpes. Its probably just a fever blister or something. Have you had sex though? If you have, maybe go get tested.

Don't believe so. Herpes simplex Type I is not the same as Type II which is likely to be in the pelvic area. Herpes Zoster is chicken pox or shingles.
