My neighbor's house is directly 15 feet to the west of my house. He is tenting his house tomorrow for termites. The fumigant is Vikane.
I spoke to the pest control company, and of course they told us that vikane is safe. But I know that it paralyzes the nervous system of the termites and it also kills plants by blocking their respiration. So what should I do, check into a hotel for three days with Mom? or what? Worry myself to death?

My little guy is 7 months old, but since 8 weeks he has had constant chest infections and weekly high fevers. I take him to the Dr. and the ER weekly and they can't seem to come up with an anser. Finally last week someone mentioned that he could be inhaling reflux into his lungs, and giving him the constant infection, is this something that is common? I am tired of getting the horrible looks every time I take him to the hospital with the high fever, but what else can I do?

My last trip to the hospital I was told I had been exposed to asbestos a long time ago and my lungs are gone. Why didn't anyone tell me before about the asbestos scarring in my lungs.Did the doctor that read the x-rays before just not pick up on it or didn't he think it was important enough to mention to me. I now have been given a death sentence. I have no insurance and at this stage I can't get any. I can't afford all the medicine they want me to take. 1 prescription a doctor gave me was $649.00 for 3 weeks worth of medicine. Needless to say, it didn't get filled. Someone told me they have been doing stem cell research on lung tissue. Does anyone have any info on this.

I would like to know what you can do to save someone who is having a major attack, and they either do not have an enhaler handy, or they are too far gone and the enhaler doesn't help. I know you call 911 first (had to put that because I know some smarty-pants would say it) . Thanks!!

My son went to the doc Thursday with bad asthma. They put him on Xopanex every 4 hours round the clock. Along with 5 other meds.. He is on singular, pulmicort, clariten, nasonex, predisone. Here it is Sunday and he is STILL on it every 4 hours round the clock. he went to the doc yesterday morning and after being on it since 9am Thursday he still had diminished breath sounds and had to get 2 treatments back to back.. After 2-3 hours after his treatment he starts coughing again pretty bad. He was up all night saturday night coughing till he vomited. Is this normal to have to be on the treatments every 4 hours round the clock or does it seem like the treatments are not working as if they should. We just found out he had it last January so I am stll new to this.. Thanks for any input. He goes back to the doc tomorrow but I am just so worried. We have been to the ER and everything. His oxygen level is good. But I still worry...

My brother might have Pneumonia. He's not the type of guy that gets sick real easy. In fact he is pretty healthy and strong and works out often.

Last Wednesday night he went out to play basketball and then he also headed to the gym. The following day (thursday) 4am in the morning he passed out from dehydration and a low blood sugar. He got much better a day after. Bu tjust yesterday he went to play in a long basketball tournament of 8 hours and now he has a really bad fever and sweats the bed like a pig and has a temperature of a 104.5 degrees F. I think he might have trouble breathing as well. My mom gives him medicine and lots of juice and water and is gonna send him to the doctors very soon, and I am very concerned.

Is there anything I can give to make him feel better?

I have been taking prednisolone for the last 3 years and recently had a relapse and am now considering taking Methotrexate.
Any one got any views?
I'm not thrilled at the idea of it. I'm 38 and worried about potential long term liver damage, fertility etc.

My daughter who is 7 years old has a persistant cough.
We took her to the doctors within a few days. Doctor said everything seemed fine and to give her Tixilix childrens cough medicine at bed time and calpol ( childrens paracetemol )if she needed it .
A week passed and she was still coughing.
I took her back to see the doctor who said it wasnt a cold or infection and she might be asthmatic. We were given a Ventolin Evohaler and told to give it to her at least 3 times a day.
After almost 2 weeks on the inhaler her cough only improved a little after taking the inhaler but she would still continue to cough all day and sometimes in the middle of the night.
I took her again back to the doctor who suggested she may have an inner ear infection. He gave her antibiotics 5 day course and told us to continue with the inhaler and the tixilix and calpol.
She has now finished her antibiotics and this cough just isnt going.
She was coughing so much last night and was sick.
What do you suggest
