My guess would be the sinuses. It has to hit there before it reaches the Nasopharynx. If the answer is more general, you could say "Nasal Cavity" as that would include all of the sinuses, instead of just specific ones.

If your instructors want to be technical, it would be nose hairs. Or they could want the Olfactory Mucosa as the answer... but one could argue that is part of the nose. In that sense, it's a hard question.
