during cpr, blood gases are drawn and the results are
FIO2=1.0
pH=7.15
PACO2=55 mmHg
HCO3=12mEq/l
PaO2=210 mmHg

What action would you take to correct the acid base shown here?

A. increase the rate of ventilation
B. Decrease the FIO2
C. Administer sodium bicarbonate intravenously
D. Add positive end-expiratory pressure to the ventilation system

I am guessing the answer would be D but not sure. Can someone please explain what the answer would be and why?

My partner snores, even on his side. We've tried nasal strips and the spray stuff even done together and I'm still sat on the sofa because he's in the land of knod and snoring away.
I know there's medical options, drilling the nasal passages, cutting away excess skin around the throat to name two. I also know that losing weight can help (yes he is overweight) but that will take time. If anyone can help me to get a good night's sleep I'd like to hear from you. Please this is serious and I'm not interested in stupid replies just so you get a couple of points.
Thanks

Does a nebulizer work better than an inhaler for asthma? Lately my asthma is getting worse and when I asked the doctor for a nebulizer, she said that nebulizers don't work any better than the inhaler. Am I crazy or do I need a new doctor?

It is dry, but it is really big and sounds like there is gravel in my throat. Any homemade remedies? I also have a mild sore throat with it. It isnt keeping me from sleep, but it is annoying.

I have a lingering cough that is dry, non-productive, but still bronchitis-like in that it is deep, and gets worse when I lay down at night. But this is unlike any "bronchitis" I've ever experienced. I'm not coughing up anything, and this cough has lasted a little over a month now.

It started with a two week round of a bad cold (or flu??) back in early February. I haven't been to the doctor's, because antibiotics always make me deathly sick.....but I am looking for some tried and true over-the-counter products and/or natural, homeopathic treatments to control this cough and hopefully reduce any inflammation in my chest.

Any recommendations? And if you've had anything like this, how long did it take you to get over it?

Thanks for input!

Has anyone had surgery for chronic sinusitis? If so, what were the results? Did it help? I've heard people that have had no improvements afterwards. Has anyone tried any other treatments that have worked?

After a week of spring vacation at home in February, I returned to my residence only to realize I had a horrible, flemmy cough that I could not get rid of. At first I thought it might be the dust from the heating systems so I turned my heater off and the cough persisted. I went to my doctor's and she checked my breathing and my throat and said I was fine, and that an infectious coughing virus was going around but that my chest results did not show that I had this.
The cough will not go away!
Here is some information about the cough;
- It is flemmy [so gross]
- The flem is often clear or sometimes a yellowy colour
- It usually happens the worst at night
- Sometimes I cough so hard and so much that it makes me gag
- On random days, after I cough I will have a runny nose, but usually it's just a cough with no need to blow my nose
- Drinking milky products seems to worsen my cough

Thank you so much for any help you can provide for me.
Maybe even remedies to aid the annoyance it brings me.
