I have a lingering cough that is dry, non-productive, but still bronchitis-like in that it is deep, and gets worse when I lay down at night. But this is unlike any "bronchitis" I've ever experienced. I'm not coughing up anything, and this cough has lasted a little over a month now.

It started with a two week round of a bad cold (or flu??) back in early February. I haven't been to the doctor's, because antibiotics always make me deathly sick.....but I am looking for some tried and true over-the-counter products and/or natural, homeopathic treatments to control this cough and hopefully reduce any inflammation in my chest.

Any recommendations? And if you've had anything like this, how long did it take you to get over it?

Thanks for input!

None of the over the counter products have codeine which is the only Rx that suppresses the cough reflex of the brain. Thats why none of them work. I had a two month cough after the flu . Needed Phenergan with Codeine to sleep and not cough during the night. If you are sleeping through you are lucky. Does a long steamy shower help?

I just was sick like Wed-Sat or so. I still have a really bad cough. I use an inhaler and actually helps clear up my lungs which helps with the cough.

It's bronchitis, My mom has chronic bronchitis, and I kind of developed it. I went to the doctors and they prescribed me with antibiotics and a pill that will break all the mucus and stuffiness in your lungs.
