COPD is Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. It is sometimes called COLD Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease. COPD is a CLASSIFICATION given to someone who has two or more of the 5 obstructive lung diseases and is retaining CO2 (carbon dioxide) in the body. The 5 obstructive diseases are Emphysema, Chronic Bronchitis, Asthma, Bronchitis, and Cystic Fibrosis. All other lung disease are restrictive lung diseases.

The two most common diseases associated with COPD are Emphysema and Chronic Bronchitis. The most common cause of COPD is smoking.

Treatments for COPD include but are not limited to oxygen therapy, bronchiodilators, steroids, leukotriene modifiers, OTC and prescription allergy medications.

Some people with COPD benefit from a Pulmonary Rehab program. Pulmonary rehab program are paid for by Medicare and insurance companies. The program will help you understand your disease and manage it. You will learn signs and symptoms and what to do to prevent them. They teach you how to use your medications correctly and when to use them. You will also do some physical exercise to increase your endurance. PR programs can increase your quality of life.

Constructive Obstructive Pulmonary Disease also known as COLD. Except you spell lung insted of Pulmonary for the second acronym.

A bit more on the subject: OCPD reduces air flow due to the increased resistance in the lungs and the conditions associated with OCPD are emphysema, bronchitis and the like.

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. Its seen a lot in smokers. COPD is not the NEW emphysema, it includes asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema and lots of other pulmonary disorders.
