I just had a baby a few month ago and I also have a toddler and a 9 year old. After I had this last baby I noticed that my memory isn't as good as it used to be. I am struggling with lack of sleep and rest, but, even though I feel sleepy most of the day, I still think I should be able to remember the simple things. For example, I start talking on the phone and suddenly I forget what I was going to say. I forget names, phone numbers and such. I've never been this way. What can I do? Did somebody else have this problem? Maybe because of the kids, the sleepless nights??? Should I take medication? Any natural treatments I could try? HELP!

Situation:
About three weeks ago my mother (who was in an extended-care facility) began showing signs of dementia and stopped eating.

She was placed in the facility because of degenerative disk disease.

On Friday she was taken to the hospital via ambulance due to her mental state (she no longer comprehends anything we say)and extreme weakness.

An MRI was performed on Monday and the neruologist diagnosed hydrocephalus. He stated that:

Without surgery she would only live a couple of months.
The existing brain damage is likely perminant
Due to her physical shape the surgery will be extremely risky
With or without the surgery she will likely have to have a feeding tube

Researching the condition on the Internet I noticed that the web-sites geared towards laymen tend to be more upmbeat but the references geared towards doctors indicate that the prognosis is grim.

Does anybody know what the 'real world' success rate for theis surgery is?

I refuse to use it, because I can't tolerate aspirin very well. But one of my wife's co-workers told her that she and her family have been using it to treat stomachaches for years and that it works great.

Anyone here still use Alka Seltzer? From what I understand, it was very popular during the 1950s and 1960s, but it isn't used much anymore.

What is the illness called when people make up a serious condition for attention? I know someone who tells everyone he has cancer, and is going for chemo..He didn't lose his hair, just shaved his head..Still has arm hair..What is it called when they make the disease up? He really played us for attention, and at first we believed him but now are reallt skeptical about anything he says..

I need help with understanding this. What will my life be like without my sight? My worst fear is relying on other people. My husband David is blind. We never talk about it. It's I feel like a failure as a wife that I can't take care of my husband. David said he will help me. He wants to get a nanny to take care of the babies. I would feel like a bad parent. I would feel like a worthless wife and mother. Why is God allowing this to happen to me? Am I being punished by God? I need advice and help for any one who is a nurse or eye doctor.

Hello,

I'm 24 years old and I have ADD (inattentive type). The doctor prescribed me Ritalin but it doesn't work; it makes me very sleepy, I don't wanna take it anymore.
Is there a chance that Adderall will work for me? It's a stimulant that is pretty similar to Ritalin, so I'm afraid it will not work either :-/
Maybe I have a better chance with Strattera...

Did any of you take Ritalin, didn't work for you so you took another drug for ADD and it worked well?

Thank you in advance.

You know - as you read silently to yourself, you can actually like hear it in your head. Or if you think something but not say it out loud. That kind of inner voice.

After reading the question "Do people who are born blind ever dream?" to my neighbor, he asked me the puzzling question "Do people who are born deaf have an inner voice?"

I've been wondering this for like a month and a half now. Does anyone know the answer.

[ If anyone was wondering if people who are born blind ever dream - yes they dream, but instead of "seeing" shapes, textures and colors, they "hear" and "feel" the dream. ]

- Sorry if this is in the wrong section!

Thanks! =]

I know this is very weird but Im very worried. I have been having bowel movements all day probably 5 so far and ive not really payed attention 2 them except the last 2 i noticed a stringy looking thing in my feces & sort of a rust color. Idk if its blood. Then I had another bowel movement & it was a tiny roundish rust color thing sort of blood looked like was in it. When I use the b/r I just use it very little then I cant anymore, but I keep having to go back about every 30 min. to 1 hour. Im very worried! Is this something that will go away in a day or is this life or death or what!? I get very worried with this.
Thanks for the help on a very awkward situation!

I have been to 3 doctors. X-rays come back normal. Regular blood tests come back normal. EKG came back normal.
Here are the symptoms I am experiencing. I am in my early 30's...
*Extreme Fatigue
*Difficulty Concentrating, Cloudy Thinking
*Joint Pain (similar to what I would think Arthritis would feel like)
*Numbness (my whole left leg is numb now)
*Tingling of finger and toes (not all the time)
*Skin Sensitivity to touch (intermittently)
* Muscle cramps and aches
* My ankles had swollen to twice the size suddenly (1 1/2 weeks ago- was given diruetics to help swelling go down)
*Sometimes Naseau, Sometimes Constipation - but not always
* Rapid Weight Gain (15 pounds in 1 week -no change in diet - went from 140 to 155)
* No fever ( I may have had low grade a couple weeks ago but no sign now)
Please it anyone has experienced any of the symptoms please give me ideas. One doc said maybe Lyme, the other doc said no idea, the other doc said maybe liver related. Plz help! Thxs
