You have flu, not a virus which is why the antibiotic isn't touching it!

Stick with fluids and paracetamol and let nature run its course.

The most common symptom of flu is muscle aches all over your body so I don't think you have the flu. I think you have allergies. Clear watery runny nose is typical of allergies and so is a sore throat and lots of phlegm. Some people also get feverish symptoms. Quit taking amoxycillin! You should NEVER take antibiotics without being prescribed by a doctor and taken for the correct period f time. If you take them too short a time they can end up not working for you later when you genuinely need them. If you really don't know what to do go to a doctor and stop messing about.

First, why are you taking amoxicillin? Did a Doctor prescribed it to you? If he did, he should have the exact diagnosis of all the symptoms you mentioned. By the sound of it, it looks like you have a Flu Viruse. If you have a fever, try not to cover up yourself too much. The chills could be because you have a fully grown viruse in your system, which causes your anti-bodies to shut-down. Frequent urination, runny nose, muscle aches, cough, are possible symptoms of a flu. But ask your Doctor on this...this could be something serious...this could also be that you have a Pneumonia (lungs) so pls. contact your Dr. immediately, if this have been happening for days.... i hope this help.

Sounds like a virus and antibiotics arent going to help.... just have to ride it out. How do you not know what you have if you have medicine that you are taking? Amoxicillin is only good for a short amount of time so if it is left over from someone else it might not be good anyway.

It could be flu virus thus antibiotics (for bacteria alone)wouldn't work. The treatment is symtomatic... if you have a fever take antipyretic like tylenol. If you have body aches take motrin/ advil. Ginger tea or salt water gurgle is good for your sore throat. Definitely increase your fluid intake!!! Hope u 'll feel better.

It may be some sort of virus for which amoxicillin will not help one bit. Amoxicillin will only help infections, not viruses. Viruses are viscious and miserable, I had one for six weeks during the Spring and I had all your symptoms.

I get this way sometimes when my allergies get really bad. I say this because usually clear mucus indicates allergies in which case antibiotics won't help. Have you seen a doctor? Hope you feel better.
