i wanna have the lap band surgery but i wanna know if it is worth it i mean i dont wanna have the surgery and then in the end not lose any weight.....

I haven't had it but I have 3 friends that have and have known many others as a nurse I see alot. I will say it works initially but you have to be motivated it simply bands the stomach and makes it smaller but the stomach is a muscle and can stretch back to the original size if to much food is put into it.

We are clicking up in here today! I just investigated the same surgery for myself. Google Lapband surgery and you will find a plethora of information. In fact, there are pictures to show you exactly what happens in the surgery. One of the most exciting points I found is on this site you can put in your zip code and city and the LAPBAND group will point you to hospitals in your area who have informative meetings where you can get all of your questions answered including the cost. I am seriously considering it -especially since I have learned that my insurance will pay for it - Good luck to you and you should let me know what you decide to do...perhaps we can be a comfort or source of information for each other.

Wow...I was reading up on it earlier today, too - my sister-in-law is supposed to be having the surgery in August. It's true that there is a ton of info on the web about..good luck!
I don't know if you've looked into that new med Alli at all - it's supposed to be quite effective as well, without the whole surgery thing. It comes with a whole food and exercise plan...
