I've had a chesty cough for over two weeks and for the last 4 days I have had a pain at the left side of my waist. It feels bruised, the pain is worse when I cough but i also feel a dull ache constantly. Is it worth seeing my DR about or will it just go away?

Starting in April I noticed a bump on the back of my head, and I went to a doctor (I don't have a specific physician) who said it was just my skull and I'd never noticed it before. Then I noticed another bump, and another doctor decided it was a staph infection and gave me antibiotics. I noticed another one last night, and again, another doctor told me it was just my skull, and not an infection. Tonight, I noticed yet another one that was not there this morning. I am getting sick of wasting my money on doctors who can tell me that this is not skin deep, and then send me on my way.

I did dislocate my jaw early in May, and I have a feeling this is probably related. Does anybody know anything that might confirm this? Or can somebody at least reassure me that I am not crazy, and sometimes people get lumps on their heads that aren't just lymph nodes? I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

I went out for a meal with a friend last night, and during the meal realised that my vision was slightly blurred. I thought it might be because I was a little tired.... we only had one bottle of wine between us! This morning my vision is still blurred. I can only just manage to read this screen. Any ideas?

Like how long would the food have to be in the system for these symptoms to occur in the body?

What would be a cause for it?

I've been experiencing lots of gas in my stomach as well as bloating. I'm belching all day long and my stomach gets as hard as a rock. I don't have pains, but I do have nausea. Sometimes the gas is so bad I just want to vomit. Furthermore, my stomach is so swollen people are now asking if I'm pregnant! (Of course, they should know that if I were, that it would be my lower abdomen that would be big, not upper.) I don't know what to do. I haven't gone to the doctor yet because, honestly, I no longer have health insurance. I'd like to find a strong and effective over-the-counter medication that works! I've tried Gas-X and almost everything else, but NOTHING works. I do have some Zantacs around the house and am wondering if these will work for gas (I'm aware they're taken for heartburn). Anyone have any advice? I'm willing to pay more for something that'll work. Please help! Thanks.

I have been having abdominal pain for 3 days now. I may have had a case of food poisoning, and the next day I was sick once when I tried to eat. However, I have not vomited since. My stomach only hurts when I stand or walk around, and although it does not prevent me from moving, it is very uncomfortable and painful (dull, constant pain until I lie down). I have an appetite, and I feel fine when I'm hungry. I can only eat a very small amount of food before my stomach hurts again, and the pain is only relieved when I feel hungry again. It seems like the pain begins when my stomach digests what little food I eat. I do not feel nauseous at all, and I don't think food poisoning would have lasted this long. I'm just looking for some clues as to what may be going on, and if it could be a serious problem.

Interested in knowing what it feels like right as they are putting you out. Is it a scary blacking out feeling, or fading away feeling?

Writing mysteries is my hobby (someday hopefully more than a hobby! Anyway, my intended murderer is someone who is not very strong, and the victim is someone a lot bigger and stronger. So I was thinking poison.

From the reading I have been doing it sounds like a barbiturate mixed in a drink (a beer maybe?) might be effective. I think it could cause the body to shut down fairly quickly, unlike the slower, less dramatic gradual poisonings you sometimes hear about. But would the victim be likely to taste the poison?

The murderer is in bad medical shape. It would be easy for her to have sleeping pills or seizure medication or something like that.

Any ideas on what would be effective but tasteless?

Thanks!

I have a very nice friend (no really it's not me) who is having bad GI problems. She has recently moved here and doesn't have a regular doctor. The one she has seen so far was extremely brusque in his assessment and treatment and didn't want to send her to the hospital. What does she have to say to get him to admit her (she is seeing him tomorrow).
