Hmm...I let my son WATCH tv when he's sick...unless I think he needs to have a nap.

You're 13 years old...I wouldn't worry about missing one football game. There will be plenty more to go to, plus wait till you're older and you can go tailgaiting with your friends...way more fun!!

Get sick, wait it out with books and tv, rest a lot, and make up for lost time once you're healthy again.

I doubt you'll be able to hide being sick to your parents anyway. They'd have to be pretty oblivious to not notice the cold sweats coming from you and the constant shivering (remember it's summer)

Besides drinking cold liquids, drink orange juice, take vitamins, get plenty of rest, put a wet washcloth over your forehead, take a VERY COLD bath or shower (if you take a bath, stay in a bit), or take Tylenol/Advil. However, the fever is helping your body fight an infection. Do you have other symptoms that will make it hard for you to watch the game anyways? Do you think your parents notice something already if you're not as active as normal?

When u realize yourself in early fever,u must take a rest and my advice take vitamin C and make yourself comfort meaning not so warm not so cold.I always take my vitamin C when i start sneezing or early fever and sleep.and tomorrow morning i feel fresh. Its not just help u to avoid the fever became worst,it also prevent it.So good luck...=)

My mother always put witch hazel on a washcloth and put it on my forehead and the back of my neck. I use it for my child now, and it works like a charm. Although, if you have a fever, it does mean your body is fighting off something, and I would be concerned for you to hide it for too long. :)

I sweat mine out. Not by exercising (I heard that's bad) but by taking baths, sleeping, and drinking lots of fluids (Gatorade is good).

Last time I had one, I went through about two gallons of Gatorade, two or three baths, and about 16 to 20 hours of sleep before it was all done.

you have a fever for a reason, it means you are sick. You want to get even sicker? maybe wind up in hospital with big needles stuck in your arm? don't be a stupid teenager, tell your mom you have a fever, she will know what to do.

drink cold liquids, but you really need to tell them. t.v. is relaxing, maybe they will let you watch.
