There's no such thing as a '"cure" for stuttering. Speech therapy focuses on managing the disorder by teaching strategies for increasing fluency. The include, but are not limited to, avoiding and working through blocks, shortening elongated sounds, and eliminating compensatory behaviors (such as eye-blinking and facial contortions). You can go to stutteringhelp.org for self-help materials, or investigate your local university to see if they have a speech clinic for student clinicians in speech pathology. These clinics typically have a sliding scale and the student therapists are very closely supervised by their professors.

No cure, but check out www.stutteringhelp.org - the best information I know of on the web for stuttering/stammering. I have heard and read that their book "Self Therapy for the Stutterer" is the best!

A speech therapist who specializes in stuttering - you can find one at www.stutteringhelp.org under referrals. Or the Foundation's book "Self Therapy for the Stutterer" if you are diligent in working through the steps and practicing rather than just reading the book.

What it all comes back to is self confidence and a good club to join to help you not only build up your confidence, but also help you get rid of that stuttering is Toastmasters. We have had a number of people who have over come their stuttering in the club. Cheers
