Writing mysteries is my hobby (someday hopefully more than a hobby! Anyway, my intended murderer is someone who is not very strong, and the victim is someone a lot bigger and stronger. So I was thinking poison.
From the reading I have been doing it sounds like a barbiturate mixed in a drink (a beer maybe?) might be effective. I think it could cause the body to shut down fairly quickly, unlike the slower, less dramatic gradual poisonings you sometimes hear about. But would the victim be likely to taste the poison?
The murderer is in bad medical shape. It would be easy for her to have sleeping pills or seizure medication or something like that.
Any ideas on what would be effective but tasteless?
Thanks!

Great answers!
Can you think of anything that a terminally ill patient might have on hand that would kill fairly quickly? This is not supposed to be premeditated or drawn out over the course of days ... the poisoner sees an opportunity to bring down someone they hate, and they "slip him a mickey"!
Thanks again!
