you need to go to the doctor first, try all medications that are possible and see if they work before social security will even look at your case.

I know ppl who've applied and they were told to try all avenues first thus, they were denied.

find a good doctor, take your meds, and do the best you can. try and work, document in a journal about any problems while working, then after a yr. or so, then apply. you have to work for 10 yrs. in order to be eligible for social security disability. as for medicaid, that's another story.

you apply for it thru ssi, and you have to have a doctor's diagnoses and it has to prevent you from being able to provide for yourself. i.e. being hospitalized, necessary seditive medications, hallucinations/lost touch with reality.

you can get ssd if you have been admitted to a mental care facility,and only then can you apply .first they turn you down then re-apply and you will get it.social security disability.Good luck

i think you have to apply for ssi and then if they deny you appeal it. I was told by my doctor that it appears i have some symptoms of bipolar and first you have to be treated by a dr. then apply.

Sometimes it isn't easy to treat and you can get SSI because you are unstable.
