My mom had surgery on her spine 2 weeks ago and she has been having bladder spasms ever since. The doctors have been giving her perscriptions that last for only 2 days because apparently it's strong stuff, and you shouldnt be on it long. It seems like they should be clearing up by now. Does anyone know how long they could last.

For the last 24 hours my husband has felt lightheaded and dizzy and he keeps saying he doesn't feel like himself, he also says he is extremeley bodily fatigued. I thought he was maybe dehydrated, but his mouth is not dry and there is no vomiting or diarhea and he drank nothing but water for the last 24 hours and lots of it. Any ideas, we don't have insurance so I don't know if we should head to the ER or what.

disorder. Her TSH levels are very low indicating hyper thyroidism. However, she is very heavy, and has gained an additional 35 lbs in the last 3 months. One of her *freinds* told her that was a sign of a brain tumor! We are all freaking out, anyone out there have any thoughts?

Hello. I'm doing a Biology Honors science project in which i need to thoroughly research and become an expert on a specific genetic disorder. My genetic disorder of choice happens to be Neurofibromatosis. For this project i also need to preform a case study.

IF you have/ know / or are related to someone who has Neurofibromatosis and are comfortable with discussing it with me, please post an answer to this question and I will contact you. If it is someone you know, please give them my e-mail address and have them contact me.

Thanks - J

I've been tentatively diagnosed with some form of inflammatory arthritis. It started in my foot, and moved to my knee. I've had 2 MRIs, a bone scan, and Xrays and they are saying arthritis.
I've also had alot of bloodwork and everything looks normal except for my sed rate which is significantly elevated.

I am seeing a rheumatologist. At my 1st appointment she put me on 10mg of prednisone a day. She acted like I would feel a difference right away. After a week with no relief I went back to see a physician's assistant. She doubled my dose of prednisone so now I am on 20mg a day. She said it should make me feel at least 50% better. The problem is that my knee is incredibly swollen and sore in the morning and evening. She didnt say that the prednisone would take care of all the swelling, but it sounded like it should help with the swelling and with the pain.
Its 1.5 weeks later and my knee is still huge and sore. The soreness I can deal with, aleve helps. I want a normal sized knee!

My 15 year old sister has had chronic migranes for a year now and has been to multiple doctors, been on many different medications, and has MRI tests done. She is having trouble with blurry vision that comes and goes and occationally complains of muscle aches. Does anyone know a possible reason for these symptoms? The doctors were looking mainly for abnormalities in the brain like tumors and such but found nothing.

I want to give my cousin one of my kidneys but I'm so scared. I am single, I have a great job no kids and I'm not married. I am in the military so I need to stay healthy and active. She is 34 and a stong minded person with 2 kids, her husband left a long time ago. She's been living on dialysis for about 7yrs. she gives me inspiration and I love her so much no one could ever tell she is sick she acts like is wrong, you can tell by her size but not her spirit. She is my eldest cousin and is also my best friend. I want to know how safe this is for me.

i've had horrible cases of iritis for about 6 years now in both eyes. i've had tons of bloodwork and testing (chest x-rays, coloonscopy, endoscopy), and the onyl thing ever found was a severe ulcer on my duodnem(sp?). are there any new findings, any new research? treatment makes day to day life hard because i am a hairstyling instructor, and with dilated eyes, it makes detail work hard. i've had a few steroid shots in the eyes, and lots of medrol packs...on top of pred forte and dilating drops..

So, I've got a chronic illness (gastroparesis), and all my professors and the dean and all know about it. I asked for an extension on a midterm exam that should've been today and my professor said that's fine. I haven't studied at all; I spent yesterday and all weekend lying in bed doing nothing.

So, my question - how much should I tell my professor? I hate asking for an extension on stuff like this, and I want him to know that I've really been sick, enough so I would've been taking the test cold. But maybe that's all too much information... Anyway, I really appreciate any advice!

I have toe nail fungus and I have been using Fungi Cure for about 2 weeks. All of a sudden I noticed that my toe nail was partly coming off. I have no idea what to do. Should I continue to use Fungi Cure and wait or should I see a doctor? And should I put a bandaid on my toe so the nail doesn't fall off?

In dialysis you as a technician has to set up machines for nurses, do chlorine chlorimine tests, the nurses do not know how to do this test required by state. They just give medications. Now this is not found in the policy and procedure manual, but it is a core that the nurses give the techs everyday to do. You have to set the machines for the nurses and yourself, then do the water testing whisch includes the chlorimine. This is a dangerous test, why are techs doing it. I'd like to kow if the state recomends that the technicians do such a job.
the techs has no license for this and it is not in the policy and procedure manual.

I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia years ago, which is getting worse - pain in all the muscles, fatigue. It moves around the body. Affected my lungs and was barely able to breathe for 3 days and then it moved to abdomen and back. Hot and cold packs don't help anymore, just for arthritis in neck
