What kind of images do they see?

These answers are helping me. The whole eye is damaged except for the retina and is the only way to see. Sounds like they would only see white, dark, and red light. Is this right?

I dont get the question...

Retina is the sensitive organ of sight, and the rest of the eye is a refraction device to help the light get there. It has cones and rods, the first ones distinguish colors, the latter, black and white.

If the retina is ok but the ·refraction device is damaged, you would get a blurred vision. It goes in stages, you need at first a shorter distance to distinguish the things, then you see only shapeless colors, and the last of it, you can only difference light from darkness.

I had a catact removed and a lens implanted a couple of years ago. Prior to the surgery I could only see a white blur like a white out computer screen with a gray area when a shadow fell across my face . . . with a little color when my eyes were open. When they were closed it was just like any other time I close my eyes - no light source with an active retina allows after- images.
