Ambien is great! only thing is you have to have a perscription for it and it is not cheap. but it is the only thing that i have found that will not leave you drowsy the next day and will keep you asleep.

if you tell your doctor that you are having trouble sleeping, then (s)he can give you a referral to a SLEEP CLINIC.
There, you will consult with a sleep specialist who may or may not set you up for a Sleep Study, depending on what the specialists concludes after talking with you.
Doing the sleep study is without a doubt one of the best ways to find out what is going on with your body at night, and from there the sleep specialist may/can diagnose any sleep disorders (if present) and possibly perscribe medication to help, or give you suggestions on how to help yourself naturally (diets, sleep schedules, etc.)
Things to keep in mind: sleep studies are usually NOT very cheap (around $1500-2000) , however, most insurance companies will cover it.
Also, scheduling for these things can take some time... time during which that you are still suffering with no sleep. It can take a month or 2 (or 3) to get into a consultation with a sleep specialist, and another 1-3 to get into the sleep study (if recommended) and yet another 1-3 months for a follow-up appt. with the sleep specialist for a diagnosis...
so a good amount of time may be entailed, but is usually worth the wait to know exactly what is wrong with you..
... That's just one route. Take it or leave it. :) hope things work out for you. Good Luck!!
