I used to be an alcoholic. I had a problem. Someone wanted me to join AA, but I declined. Know what I did? I stopped drinking so much. I still drink whenever I want at parites but never get out of control anymore. Why? Because I have a brain. AA is for people with absolutely no brain. Their logic is if you dont have the first drink you can't have the 15th. Yeah, and if you never get into a car you can't get into an auto accident. You see where this logic breaks down and enters the realm of stupidity.

I feel sorry for all you people that got sucked into AA and now your lives suck. Gotta go, going to have a beer and dinner with my wife.

My fiance was sick yesterday and went to see an ER doctor. She had a high fever and body aches and felt nauseas. Doctor gave her some kind of injection to the buttocks. I was not there so I do not know what kind of shot it was and she is asleep so I cant ask her. All I know is, this injection made her really....intoxicated. She was acting all funny as if she had downed a fifth of vodka and at times very aggressive. I know she is on Birth control, maybe this had a bad interaction?

I know its a long shot but I thought I'd ask.

So for a few months now about every two weeks, I get this intense pain (one of the worst I've felt!) in my ribcage that wakes me up; it always happens during sleep. I can't take in a deep breath without the pain shooting throughout my ribs. The pain is so intense that I'm immobilized; I can't roll over on my side or even move an inch. I always wake up my fiance with my "ow ow ow ow"s and it's getting pretty annoying. I've been to a doctor, not my primary, and he said that he's not sure what's causing it... I have no pain when I touch the spot, so maybe its visceral (on the organs, not skeletal muscle). Not too sure... Anyone ever experience this and get somewhat of an answer from a doctor?

Thanks :D

Hello I have a situation that I have never experienced before (personally) - but my lovely wife has had this unforunate exprience. Her mother died of lung cancer 10 years ago (mum was 63) - then her brother comittted Suicide after jumping off a multi storey car park, and now her dad has only days to live - due to liver cancer - my wife is distraught - understandably - I do all I can to reassure her of the situation, but i am at a loss to console her ?

My daughter is almost 6 years old and is having back pain. Her back has been hurting for about a week and I have a doctor's appointment for her on Friday. Her dad has a deteriorating spinal disease that runs in his family and causes severe back pain. He said that this disease does not show up until you are in your 30's or 40's. I need to know some opinions about what this could be. I'm really nervous about what the doctor will say Friday.

My vision has not really deteriorated...my near-sightedness has improved, but I have horrible "floaters" in both eyes. I now must use reading glasses (store-bought variety). I'm considering Lasix in at least one eye, but would like opinions from anyone with knowledge in this area. Could it really help, or would I be taking a big gamble? Also, I've read that EDTA (oral chelation therapy) will reverse floaters...has anyone else experienced such wonderful luck? And, is it necessary to take EDTA for the rest of one's life in order for the floaters to remain gone?

My husband was a heroin addict for about 10 years. When we met I had finally helped and convinced him it was time to put a stop to it. He did make the decision to stop and get clean. So we moved away from it and he has been clean for almost 2 years. The problem is he wants to move back because of family but I am not all for it just yet. And this is why, Just the few times we have visited there he has relapsed once and 2 other times I had to talk him out of not doing it. Its like a fight everytime we go back to were he use to use. Will he ever be able to move there and not want to use heroin? Is it possible just to not ever want to use it again? He has always told me.. Once a heroin addict always one... is this true? Advice on this terrible drug please!

I took it with a large glass of water but it got stuck and has been stuck since I took it last night. I thought it may dislodge during breakfast or lunch or maybe drinking many different types of beverages to help dislodge it. I thought maybe a good burp would help. Nope. I have no difficulty eating or drinking but the that darn pill is still stuck. Any ideas on how to unstick it? I'm afraid to take anymore of this medication due to the fact that another pill may become stuck too.

I got my nose peirced 2 weeks ago, and allthough I am trying my darndest to keep it clean so it can heal(I'm well aware this takes about 3 months), it keeps falling out! Luckily this has always only happened at home, when I'm in the tub, or when I'm in bed(I always put on a round bandage when I'm ready to sleep though) But due to the fact of it popping in and out all the time, and reinjuring the area when putting it back in, I think its getting infected. It has a little pimply thing beside the hole that has puss under the skin. Its not really red around the hole though... I'm still cleaning it and I just put some Polysporin antibiotic ointment on it. Any other advice from anyone who had a similar problem?

Also, I was wondering if the infection has something to do with the ring itself. When I got my ears done, I had a heck of a time with them because I was allergic and didn't know it. I chose a gold ring for my nose, but as we all know, a lot of gold has nickle in it
