Instead of writing a script for 7 pills (one to be taken each week 2 weeks prior to travel, one during the week of travel and four, once per week for weeks after travel), I was given a prescription for about 49 pills with instructions to take one pill per DAY for the two weeks prior, one week of traveling and four weeks after. The rx was for Chloroquine 500 mg. I stopped taking them IMMEDIATELY while in Haiti when I found out this probably wasn't correct dosage. At that point I had already taken about 35 of them (my original flight was postponed from 2/14 to 2/20 so I actually would have been short some pills if I had taken them as prescribed) What DAMAGE may have been done? What can I do to alleviate any damage (the one thing I did notice was a very itch rash on upper arms and of course, a sick stomach quite frequently) I am assuming I am protected against the malaria and should not resume even one pill for the four weeks I was supposed to take after I returned. HELP!

For the past couple of days, I have been feeling extremely warm. Not just comfortable, to the point where I feel like I'm suffocating from the heat. The house temp is set at 65*, and yet it is in the 40's outside and I am constantly warm. I have PCOS, hypothyroidism and I am insulin resistant. I am on Yasmin 28 (21 active pills, 7 inert tablets), levothyroxine 25 mg, centrum multi vitamin and Metformin HCL 500 MG. There is absolutely no chance of pregnancy. I have had lots of headaches, and nausea, although I've been under a lil stress as of late. I don't think stress would cause such intense feelings of warmth though. I am also only 21 years of age, so could it be early menopause? What is wrong with me,and should I see a doctor?

The official ADHD assessment diagnosis would cost $1200. My insurance (provided by my current university, UCSD) would not cover any of it. What I'd really like to do is be prescribed with medication.

I was told by friends that they were perscribed medication (such as Adderall) just by seeing a psychiatrist, who would then send them home with a test. After they turn in the test and asking a few questions, they walked out the door with a prescription. I like this method better because my insurance would actually cover the therapy sessions.

What would you recommend I do? Most importantly, how did you get diagnosed with ADHD and prescribed medication?

My aunt was diagnosed with meningoencephalitis yesterday and is on a vent in the local icu. We had a family gathering about 17 days ago. Should I be worried about her being contaigious? At that time she just had a sinus/ear infecton. The Dr. is giving her a 50/50 chance of survival. And how long will it be before we will know if she's out of immediate danger?

I have been diagnosed with Hashimoto's. I am interested to hear others experiences with the disease, because I don't think mine is normal. See I have a goiter and I had everything checked three months ago and they told me my thyroid was normal, then it just went crazy and over that short time it has made me hypothyroid. But my symptoms were weight loss, insomnia, depression, fatigue, anxiety, infections, brittle hair, candida that won't respond to treatment, diarrhoea, nausea and thats about all I can think of for now. These don't seem to be normal hypo symptoms! Has anyone else had whacky symptoms? I think maybe (I read somewhere that when its attacking sometimes you get hyper symptoms before it destroys the thyroid) it could be because of this? Has anyone managed to be treated and then able to stop medication? I just want to hear what other people have gone through.

For me, I have a hard time with a hair phobia...touching other people's hair, and or if it gets near my food, I have to usually toss the whole dish or sandwich out..etc...I also USED to have to count out things...like how many times I washed my hair with one shampoo...it had to be either an odd number or an even number..(I felt like a raisin by the time I got out of the shower! LOL!) I am not like this now...thank GOd!!! I also had to check to see if I turned off the lights, stove...etc...I finally took a group/class on the subject..and I decided..."If I haven't turned the stuff off, when I am already out the door, "Oh well! I guess the apartment will blow up!" That wasn't that easy to do...but, hey, ya gotta do it! to cure yourself!!! I still have some "unfinished business" but, I am taking my time! LOL! what about you all? Any annoying O.C.D.Habits...you would like to "unload",and get off of your back, for good? What are the worst ones for you? why?

I also have lesions all over my stomach, so I am not always able to take some meds or treatments. When I take FiberCon or Metamucil, they bloat me and I become swollen because the fiber builds up and is not easily released.
