Since you say you have orthostatic hypotension, I am concluding that you have been officially diagnosed. Didn't your doctor tell you strategies that you could try? If you have not been officially diagnosed, please see your doctor first to make sure that you do not have an underlying, undiagnosed medical condition causing your problem. If you have been diagnosed, see if he has any special strategies he would like you to try.

He may not even want you to do track and may recommend a different form of exercise. If he allows track, he may recommend:
increasing your salt intake to 10 grams a day
wearing jobst stockings
sleeping with head of bed elevated
no naps during the day
small frequent meals instead of three large ones
no standing immediately after meals
avoiding excessive heat
avoiding hot showers
tilt or orthostatic training

The doctor may also feel that medication is necessary. Please see your doctor first to discuss your wishes to do track before you start to participate.
