A good pain managment specialist. Usually listed in yellow pages under specialties (physicians) often times they will list CFS or/and fibromyalgia - a good pain management doc won't just prescribe meds, they will work with you on physical therapy, weight loss, sleep issues etc. You can always call your primary care physician as well and ask for a referral. I "technically" have fibromyalgia, but I have my doubts that it's anything more than a "garbage can" diagnosis for insurance purposes- particularly since I found out my headaches were likely caused by a slightly bulging disc in the cervical area and the knee pain, after an MRI was caused by arthritis - and I'm not even that old. Which came first - the Fibro or the other problems? -- who knows but regardless, I have a good pain mgmt doc - the first one tried to place me in a cookie cutter PT program and kept giving me strong narcotics without any diagnostic tests, I moved on and am really glad, the first thing my current doc did was get MRI's and we have been working from there with exercises tailored toward me and much different meds to help with pain, especially at night which has helped with weight, etc. Good Luck!
