May you are going for a viral infection or flu. Sore throat is usually due to a viral infection. Gargling with warm salty water or mouthwash can reduce the pain and inconvenience. You can find some good home remedies at http://ailments.in/sorethroat.html

Could be a flu, strep throat or the common cold! Try having some zinc, throat lozenges and some comtrex for whatever your symptoms are, that works best for me.

depends how long you have been sick--could be mono or meningitis if a long time
if a short time and accompanied with runny nose, a cold
with body aches too, flu
with throwing up, and high fever, and came on quickly, probably strep
with rash and fever, chicken pox
or tonsillitis if you have your tonsils and they are swollen
