I have been on Avonex since 2000. Is there any other cause for the enzymes to be elevated? I am married....monogamously..lol is that a word? ;)

My son has been on Avonex since 2000 for his MS also. His Neurologist told him that if his liver enzymes were ever elevated, it was a side effect from the Avonex, and he would have to change his medication. See you Neurologist or doctor and get your medicine changed. Best of luck to you!

well, you could be misdiagnosed. you could have hepatitis c, not ms (symptoms are almost identical!) get tested for hepatitis c and whether or not your positive, you could still benefit from antiviral chemotherapy (interferon seems to lower some issues that those with MS have) ask your doctor about trials!
