I'm really worried about my best friend. She's 5'4"ish and weighs like 90lbs.
She used to be a little overweight but she really wasn't too bad. But ever since the guy she liked told her she was not "good enough" for her, she totally flipped out and started saying how she was going to go anorexic. I didn't think much of it because we used to kid around a lot. Well, since she first decided to lose weight, she's lost apx. 30lbs and she's not stopping. She's become obsessed with her weight. She hasn't been eating, she's been having people buy her diet pills, she's exercising like crazy, and she's always saying how "fat" she is...
I just recently did some research on anorexia and I found out that she's well into this disease. I'm also afraid that she might be throwing up too, because her mom has asked me and sometimes she'll just leave to go to the bathroom when no one pays attn.
Now that I know what can happen, I'm really scared for her. Is there anything I can do without upsetting her?

I almost always feel bloated or even sick after I eat, even if I don't eat much. Like a little while ago I ate half a pb& j sandwich, and my stomach is visibly bloated. What can I do? It's like this at every meal.

African (-American or whatever).

Not a racial question; i've simply never seen a black child/adult with down syndrome. Are there certain races in which the disease is prevalent? Is it just white/caucasions?

I went to the doctor about a month ago and they noticed my ALT level was elevated. 80 on a scale of 10-60. The dr sent me for a ultrasound and it came back as a fatty liver. I had been diagnosed with this before about 5 years ago but dropped about 25lbs and the functions went back to normal so I hadnt worried about it. I have since gained back some weight and wanted to see if that was an issue again. On the ultrasound they noticed a small area that looked like it could be a fatty build up. I was told to go for a CT Scan. That has come back showing a a couple of small nodules that was hard to detect. Radioligist said its not cancerous because of the way it imaged with the contrast and made a just a note. I guess this was caused by the fatty liver which they say is very fatty. Is this reversible with diet, weight loss and no alcohol consumption? By the way I am 29 year old male. About 6 feet and 205 lbs. I dont have a gut or anything, just pack on some extra pounds sometimes

My 14yr old daughter had her blood work done and the her antithyroglobulin is high. Normal range is 0-40 and her is at 541. The doctor didn't say anything other than she has a hypothyroid. She is taking 50mcg of Synthyroid once a day. I'm confused because the dr. mentioned Grave's Disease. I thought that was more along with a hyperthyroid. Should I be worried about the antithyroglobulin being high?

Why can't doctors use dialysis machines with special filters to cure more diseases of the blood? Couldn't they use UV light, antibiotic or chemically impregnated filters to treat diseases such as leukemia or aids etc. ?

Is it possible to test normal on your Thyroid, but still have symptoms of thyroid problems.

I checked the Thyroid website and I have every symptom including the trouble with swollowing from time to time.. I can see from time to time where my throat gets a little swollen.

I do have an appointment with the doctor next week, I was just wondering if this was possible..

Lately I have been having dizzy spells. Mainly when I stand up. They seem to come and go. I noticed a few months ago that it was sorta bad but they seemed to go away for awhile. But now they are back. They are so bad that I almost fall over. I just get really light headed. What can case this? Should I see a doctor?

Dr said it was a cyst and to squeeze it while in the shower and it would pop. I did this several times and greyish thick stuff came out- It now is red and swollen and seem to have gone from a pea size to the size of a dime. It was never swollen and red before- should I go and have this lanced now and should I get on anitbiotics and see if it goes down? Also is clyndimycin a good antibiotic to take for this?
