a stroke sometimes does but its probably not that so its probably bms or burning mouth syndrome its a very rare syndrome only 53 people have had it in thee past 20 years there were 42 women and 11 men aged 32-73 and they treated 37 patients with either (1) a neurophysiological technique to increase brain GABA [transcranial magnetic stimulation (TCMS)] or (2) a GABAergic drug (Haldol or haloperidol). Of the 37 treated patients 24 or 65% improved with significant reduction in their oral pyrosis whereas 13 or 35% did not.

Sometimes strokes can cause this. My mom lost her sense of smell after her stroke. So, I'd probably contribute it to that. You may have some problem with the ofactory senses in your nose caused by stroke or something else, they probably wouldn't be able to determine a cause with your medical problems it's likely the stroke. So, sorry.
