when I stand up from a sitting or laying position sometimes my face, on the right side tingles like I'm coming off of novacaine. It tingles near my eye and then runs down the inside of my nose and to my lip. It last for about 25 seconds but freaks me out every time. The dr. said it was bells palsy but I haven't been able to find anyone with symptoms like mine. Also, they put me on methylprednisone for it and that was a wicked drug and didn't help at all. What do you think it could be?

Did anyone experience numbness in thier feet (top of foot up and around the ankle) or hands? Hot hands or tingling itching palms?

After you started taking synthroid... describe what it did for you?

Experiences with medications, doctors; etc.

I just had my blood test come back with a high TSH result. I am tired all the time, little patience for peope, bloated, dry skin, dry hair, premature gray, have trouble concentrating sometimes, dry eyes, gassy, COLD, ( I actually cannot tolerate hot or cold... only like 80 is comfortable for me), low energy, apathetic, tingling or itching hands, top of foot went numb for a few months once.

Anything interesting anyone wants to share related to this condition... feel free. Thanks!

There's a lot of attention given to cancer, diabetes, AIDS, among others, but I haven't heard much on epilepsy. I've only seen a couple of programs that even mentioned the word. I have epilepsy, and I wonder if sometimes the entertainment industry has forgotten or doesn't know how to deal with the subject. What's going on?

Ok so I have difficulty falling asleep almost every night.
I usually just end up watching tv or cleaning or goin on the internet.
I end up falling asleep around 2-5 in the morning and wake up around 12-2 in the afternoon.
I lay down around 10 or 11 o'clock at night with no tv or music. nothing. and yet it takes me a couple hours to fall asleep. and then when i finally do if i hear the sound of a pin drop then BAM im awake.

so my question is do i have insomnia?
im 17/f. [im homeschooloed] but even when i was in school this was a problem.
most of the time i take 1 benadryl and then that helps me but ive been taking it for so long now ive upped it to 2 and yet it takes forever to work.

please help im going craaaazy!!
thanks<3

I am 40mg of Protonix twice daily. My problem is though, about 3-4 times a day my chest gets these very weird pains in them. More like pressure. And this also is on my throat. They uncomfort lasts about 20 minutes all the way up to 3 hours. Also, about once or twice a day my heart feels like its skipping a major beat. But I feel my pulse and it's okay. Around 85-95 BPM. The uncomfort pretty much comes after I eat, and it feels like there is food maybe in my lower/mid esophogas. But these episodes with my heart feeling like its skipping beats really worries me. My anxiety is not an issue with this problem, I am on .25 mg of Xanax (Alprazolam) for that. But this uncomfort is really bugging me. It also kind of goes up my neck also. Which makes me think heart attack, but I've had every test done for my heart. All my blood work is okay, and my stress echo came back good as well. I just want to know if I'm having spasams in my esophogas or something else? Please help.

I have just recently quit a stressful job that brought on a lot of anxiety. During this time I held in vocal tics (tics such as humm and huhh). When I was working in the job, I had also done many vocal tics at home. I was diagnosed with anxiety and Tourette's.

However, I have never had vocal tics up until the sixth month of my job. I have shaked my head very rarely at times when I was nervous in the past (going back years). By the way, I'm 22 years old.

I was wondering if vocal tics could be brought on by just anxiety, and not Tourette's syndrome.

Thank you.

I have previously faced the beginning of an eating disorder, but my friends helped me pull through. I thought I was over it and everything, but I guess I was wrong. Recently I have been suffering the same symptoms. I stopped eating, and I now feel sick whenever I do actually eat. I have not quite gotten to the point of bulimia yet but I might be getting there. Everything in my life is fine, I think. I mean I have great parents and I get ok grades. I just feel like this is the only thing that I can control now. I recently was diagnosed with ADD and Dyslexia and now I feel useless and out of control. I know theses problems are common and with some meds and coaching I will do fine, but I don’t want to be on meds. I could control my life before, why can I not still control it? I feel hopeless and controlling what I eat is the only thing left for me. Oh how I want to be skinny. I am 5’4” and weigh 131lbs. I think I could be skinnier I just don’t think it’s right.

The attacks are infrequent, but are very painful for him. Mega-doses of NSAIDS don't help much of anything. They are helpful for day to day arthritis pains he has - but the pseudo-gout is super painful. I have before wanted to get pain pills for him (I know a friend ....) BUT he (my dad) would really give me hell for breaking the law. ...

A few years back, I suffered Bell's Palsy after an operation and thus got an MRI. I was told I had a ministroke. Though the Bell's Palsy went away on it's own, I recently went persistantly numb on one side of my body, so I got another MRI. I now live in a different area, more of a 'country' area, and I'm uncertain what to think now. The hospital sent a report (author unknown) to my clinic saying I had several small white leasions from an "old trauma." Nothing "acute." It made NO mention of my prior mini-stroke, which I find odd. (At the first hospital, I was shown the MRI and saw the line myself.)

My doctor is a GP, not a radiologist or a neurologist. I've suffered from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia since I had the mini-stroke -- although the conditions may have been triggered by the operation. CFS/FM have many symptoms in common with MS. Should I be worried?

Both sides of my face are tender at those location if I push on it. The right side has always been the side of my face, head, and back that I have pain. That is the side I have a deviated septum. Sometimes I feel like there is clamp on my head right above the ear. I have allergies and get allergy shots. Every time I tell my doctor how the whole right side of my head hurts and the pain even travels down to my shoulder blade. He just says it's sinus. I had a sinus X-ray not long ago, but when I went in for my check up he didn't mention the results and I forgot to ask. I started thinking that I was clamping my jaw in stress and this could be causing the pain, a chain reaction. My sinus swells, I have a hard time breathing, I start stressing. My hips have been hurting also, I pushed on my right and I feel burning pain and lumps there also. They feel like they move when I push on them, almost like they are jell filled. I also had my teeth checked at the dentist. They were fine.
