Long story short: I was on an extremely high dose of 3 different steroids about 20 days ago. Since then I've had hormonal problems to say the least, one of which is mild acne. I had a bump on the side of my nose, which I thought was a pimple, so I squeezed it. A small amount of pus did come out, but the next morning (and each sucessive morning thereafter) it has been worse, more swollen, and extremely sore. It feels hard (a lump the size of a pea), and then "squishy" for about a 1 inch diameter around it. It's red and extremely sore. Also, that side of my nose is stuffy and I have an awful headache, as well as a low fever and a sore throat. That being said, I get CHRONIC sinus infections and I don't know if all these symtoms are just coinciding with a weird pimply-thing. Could a severe sinus infection cause this type of infection in your skin too? Or does it sound like staph? I'm going to the doctors later today but it's really painful and I'd appreciate any help! THANKS!

since birth, I have had, what I thought was ptosis. It wasn't very noticeable at first, but it has gotten worse. I went to an eye specialist when I was 6(twelve years ago) and he diagnosed me with ptosis, of course. Upon going to a cosmetic surgeon last month, he informed me that I didn't have ptosis, but infact, had a sunken eye. I was told that a surgery involving a spacer behind my eye would be the only real fix. My question is, is this dangerous? I've heard that some people weren't able to close their eye after this surgery! I've heard quite a few horror stories. Has anyone had this surgery? is it worth it? Would a cosmetic surgery be better? Sorry to drudge on, but I'm quite scared. Thank you.

I am 22 years old and I started getting headaches similar to migraines a year ago but I had them like once a month. Now the last 2 month they have gotten stronger and lasted for up to 2 weeks. They are always on one side of the head and when they occur the pain goes down towards my ears and eyes, I get very dizzy, there has been vomitting with the headaches (once). I also feel numbness on the face and hands. I also noticed that I get very thirsty! My doctor says it seems to be a typical migraine but Im concerned it could me worst.......Does anyone have any answers for me...Thanks

My Dad said his doctor sent him to an Oncologist on a monthly basis to check his blood, esp. potasium levels. I tolf him I thought he should be seeing a Hemotologist, and Oncologists specifically deal with treaments of various cancers.
Anyone have any thoughts?

I had a HIDA scan back in July, and the GI doc I saw said my gallbladder would eventually have to come out.
I've never missed work or college because of the pain I sometimes feel, but it is annoying.
I can't find any information on my test results, so any help is greatly appreciated!

Ok, The problem is this:

Upon eating the person feels poorly, bloated and gassy.

He also gets painful stomach cramps around the stomach region.

Anatomy-wise, not where most people think their stomach sits.

Any ideas what this is and what can be done for it?

He ocassionaly faints at the sight of blood, no joke, and he's a tough guy. He just gets all hot and passes out. It's always been real blood, or real surgery on TV before. Tonight, however, we were watching Grey's Anatomy and he went out during the triage scene with the squirting blood outta the leg scene. But he didn't just faint, he seized up and his eyes were open and his pupils were HUGE. He just kept on, arching his back with his hands all balled up. Scared the crap out of me. Does anyone know anything about this? I'm not trying to make a big deal out of it, but it was pretty dramatic. I understand he would have snapped out of it faster if he hit the floor, to line his heart up with his feet, but he was sitting in a chair so it felt like it lasted for a minute at least. I know fainting at the sight of blood is normal (sort of). Should I make him go to the doctor, or can this fall under the term "fainting"?

I've been getting some breakthrough bleeding on my pill, ortho tricyclen lo, which I've been on for about a month. It's getting quite annoying, and I have a friend who is on seasonale and when she had breakthrough bleeding her doctor told her to double up on the pill-take twice the dose, i.e. two pills a day. It worked for her in like 5 days-the bleeding stopped. Would this work for me too?

A few years back on one of my trip to sch on bus, i suddenly feel that there was not enough oxgen for me. It was very packed on the bus early in the morning. I only know that after the feeling of having not enough oxgen, the next moment i blacked out.

After that incident, it happens frequently until now even on trains as long as it was packed. I tend to be very nervous and when each time i force myself not to think abt it, the attack will surface. Is this known as panic attack? I was an athelete but after the attacks, i cldnt run long distance anymore. Is there any cures for this type of attack?
