Ok, The problem is this:
Upon eating the person feels poorly, bloated and gassy.
He also gets painful stomach cramps around the stomach region.
Anatomy-wise, not where most people think their stomach sits.
Any ideas what this is and what can be done for it?

Ok, people are thinking the pain is in his spleen, if that helps.

I mostly agree with the suggestions made above, especially the ones about seeing your doctor.
But I would look into something called candida (yeast) overgrowth, if it is a chronic problem. I used to always feel bloated and gassy after I ate. Sometimes I would feel nauseous too. I went on the anti-candida diet and those were the first symptoms to go (I also was fatigued, had anxiety, muscle aches, felt spaced out...)
If it is this, however, you may want to think twice about taking alka-seltzer and other alkaline OTC drugs like this. Apparently, it feeds candida. These sorts of meds can also make digestion worse over time and lead to back-up in your system.
You can find a lot of stuff about candida on line, but I would also recommend taking this book out of the library: The Yeast Connection, by Dr. William Crook
Hope this helps!

Definately, a UTI a urinary tract infection, or a bladder infection is what they're called. I have had several and the only relief from this is antibiotics and you have to go to a doctor and produce a urine sample for them to detect it. It could spread up to your kidneys if you don't get it looked after and the old wise "cranberry treatment" never worked for me, you'll have to get antibiotics to clear it for sure. Talk from experience. It'll take about 2 days before you feel better after starting to take the antibiotics.

Since not many people on this forum are licensed healthcare providers, it would be best to call a doctor. It could be something like IBS or more serious, but it is definitely worth getting checked out.

there are so many things that can be wrong with this person. What comes to mind first is gastritis. but to be sure you need to seek medical attention. go to the hospital and get some analysis done and maybe some blood work to be on the sure side.

It sounds like something that your doctor can fix you up for in rapid order. There are a lot of digestive issues that sound like the symptoms you described. I wouldn't wait to see your doctor though. Sooner is always better than later.
