I recently was hired working somewhere and was told one of the assistant managers has a disease/condition where he defecates on himself because he cannot control it. I know this happens with elderly people, but this person is in their 30s and am not sure whether my co-workers are just messing with me or what. Is there any such thing?

I'm pregnant and my job is increadibly stressful. My boss yells at me and I have a lot of extreme pressure to produce a high level of job performance on a daily basis. I often find myself hiding in a closet crying on my break usually on a daily basis.
Do you think this atmosphere is damaging to the fetus? Do you think my doctor will grant me a medical leave of absence for this environment?

it has just been brought to my attention that me and my hausband have less than a month to move from our current residency. although we are not legally married we introduce ourselves as husband and wife. last year he was in a life threatening car accident which left him with alot of nerve damage and is unable to work. he luckily is able to collect social security which isnt that much. at the present moment i am the only one with a stable income and because of our current situation as far as moving is concerned we want to relocate to another state which i am currently looking into for jobs before the move. my question is this is there a way that ss or public assistance would be able to assist us with moving expenses even if we are not legally married? if so how would i go about getting more information on this matter. and would it be easier if we were legally married. thank u to all those who took an interest in my dilemma. and any suggestions will be tried and greatly appreciated.

Throughout the day, I always crack the joints in my legs. It does not hurt at all, but can this lead to any damage in the future or is it harmless? I always hear people say its harmless and it does not bring on arthritis. Is this true though, or is there evidence that it can do harm to you in the future?

In the mid-seventies, the military diagnosed my uncle with "sugar on the kidneys", a condition he said was very painful. I was wondering if anyone knew about this condition and if it is related to diabetes in any way. Thanks in advance for your help!

In Nov 2006, I went to a doctor at the VA. He ordered labs, and I did not know which ones. He told me that I would recieve a call if anything came back abnormal. I was not diabetic then nor was I aware that I might be diabetic in the future. I did not know he ordered blood glucose. Well, in Jan 2007 I was admitted to ICU on Insulin IV drip for 4 days,. Upon admission to ICU, my A1c was a 12 and my blood sugar was 914 and I also had a UTI. Rememeber that this happened 2 months after visit to VA. Well, this past Wednesday, I got to see my primary care physician at VA, and she told me that my blood sugar was well above 200 in November when I visited the VA. Am I not right in assuming that no matter how you explain it, it was gross neglect by not notifiying me of results and making an immediate appointment versus being admitted to ICU 2 months later. I am following a diet & exercise program now, my A1c is 9, and blood sugar is always 90 - 125 and getting better. No diabetics in family.

Major surgery was done in April and the drains were put in, and ever since she has had to go in every month and have a new drain put in or a needle remove the fluid. Had another surgery done on the 29th of Dec. to resolve the fluid probem but it didn't work. She has more fluid now than ever! What could be wrong, and is this ok to keep having a drain put in?She got some kind of staph infection about 3 weeks ago and nearly died. It just seems like theres no window of hope. Wheres this fluid coming from? It hurts her around her liver when the fluid builds up. Please someone give us some answers. Shes really getting depressed

I made a appointment with a doctor.

I have had a ringing in my ear for about two weeks and just curious to know what it is. It started one night and continued for a few days and then I got a cold a few days later. The more I cough the more they ring, but now that the cold is gone the ringing goes away two days and is back four more days and leaves and comes back any diagnosis before I go to my appointment?
Thanks for your answers

My brother was admitted to emergency room a week ago and had emergency appendix surgery. His appendix burst and he has peritonitis. It has been a week and he has been on massive IV antibiotics. He has not eaten in 6 days and today they inserted an NG tube which drained almost 5 liters from his very distended stomach. This is totally new to me and I want to make sure that this is normal. They are saying that with peritonitis it may take 2 weeks in the hospital and another 3 weeks of home recovery. His bowels are still not working well. Just wanted to see if there were any nurses or doctors out there who can tell me what the recoverty process is and if all the pain he is experiencing is normal. Also they kept him in the emergency room for 5 hours before they did anything, could this have caused more damage than necessary? thanks

I have a connective tissue disease and am currently taking plaquenil and Imuran. But the muscle pain is still pretty bad and I take darvocet, advil, and soma to help manage it, but it just doesn't cut it, it still hurts. I am also diabetic.
I would really like to try prednisone to see if it can cut down on my inflammation but my rheumatologist doesn't want to do it unless it's absolutely necessary since it may increase my blood sugar as a side effect.
My diabetes is pretty much under control for now anyways, with medicine for it also, and I wanted to know how much prednisone can effect sugar levels? is it dramatic and will always happen? or just a small chance that would be worth the risk? thank you.
