I had a 2 part sub-total colectomy surgery... & have only had 1 (literally) day since then that I haven't had a flare up of my colitis. Though the surgeon did leave a small "cuff" (by the anus) which can still have u.c., the rest of my colon has been removed... & yet, I still seem to have a chronic flare up of colitis (or pouchitis?!? not sure which). I have appx. 15 bowel movements on a good day... sometimes up to 30+. Does anyone else out there have this problem... or has anyone had the problem in the past & have any recommendations (diet, exercise!??!) that you think might help? Also, for those of you who have had this procedure (regardless of how you feel now) are there any supplements you take now that you would suggest to others who have had this procedure? Thanks much folks! Looking forward to hearing from you!

Throughout my whole life I get the hiccups all the time. Even befor I was born my mom said that she felt me hiccuping in the womb many times. And I don't get soft, dainty hiccups. No mine are those gigantic convultions that make me croak if my mouth is open when I hiccup. By the end of the day I am just exhausted. And I know all the remidies, I feel like I could write a whole book with all the suggestions I get. Sometimes they work, but many times they don't and even if they do work, the hiccups usually come back later that day. This happens at least once a week, if not more. Is anything wrong with me or is this just something that happens to some people and I have to live with it?
Thanks for any help you offer.

my boyfriend suffers from Guillain-barre syndrome. He hasn't had any major battles for years, but when we have sex, he gets these really severe headaches immediately following orgasm. Also his penis is so sensitive, that when he pulls out, its painful. Well he says its just a weird sensation but he actually yells out at times. I know this question might seem weird, but I love him very much and don't want to cause him pain. Is this related to his illness or is this something entirely different?

Someone once told me this, but this same person would also make up a lot of pointless facts. I do know that tea, soup and other warm liquids are good for your throat, and soda is bad. So is there any detriment in drinking cold water.

My thyroid test (blood test only) had a negative result. However, my symptoms are getting worst everyday. I've been having a hard time to breath, feeling exhausted all the time, the side and inside of my neck is painful, plus a continous chest pain. Also, I've been having this painful sensation that starts under my arm and ends on my palm or a finger.
I also had a stress test and heart ultra-sound which had negative results.
Could this be a thyroid problem?

The doctors cannot find a diagnosis, so they put him in a classification based on outward appearance.. calling it something like "pheno-shokur" sequence, but i cannot spell it correctly. I cannot find any education, or literature, or any other information on it at all. How can i learn more. We are very strong in our faith in God, and believe that He will heal our son. It is alot of healing required, because our son cannot hardly move on his own at all, and relies on a ventilator and a feeding tube to keep him alive. The doctor recommends that we pull the plug because he says there is nothing that they can do. We need prayers and testimonies of similar experiences for encouragement. Can anyone help? Your prayers are appreciated.

I get cold sores every once in a while (especially when I am stressed out) and I was wondering if there is any vitamins or certain foods that help prevent them. I know that it is herpes and you can never be completly cured. I do use Abreva once an outbreak occurs, but I want to know if they can be prevented without a perscription.
Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks.

I am only sixteen years old and my vision is at 20/100. The legally blind ratio is 20/200. I can't see things from far away. My mother has better vision than me, she is at 20/60 and my dad has naturally good eyesight. The only factor I am aware of is using the computer frequently, but I know others that used the computer just as much and they have fine vision. It wasn't until recently that I have gotten contacts/glasses because for a long time I was unaware or just in denial of my bad eyes. Now that this has hit me, I feel really scared and helpless, as well as determined to eventually get laser eye surgery. What could have caused such horrible vision? Am I one of the few teenagers like this? Also, what things can I do to naturally strengthen my eyesight, or is there nothing to be done aside of surgery? I am beyond devastated about this situation of being hard of seeing. When I take my contacts out at the end of the day, I nearly break down. I am so young for this to be an issue.

I am already suffering detox symptoms when I go down 3mg in 4 days and I don't want to wait another 90 to get clean. My 10 year relationship is on the line, my sweetie does not know me because the drugs have altered me so much he does not know who I am and can't see me or talk to me until I am clean, it's too painful, I say mean things without realizing what I am doing. I am under the care of a taper doctor, but don't want to wait the 90+ days and am willing to suffer to get this done. The doctor is saying it might take 6 months (no way) Any help or advise is appreciated. Thanks, Sandy

My lower back has been killing me for about a week and a half now. I have not done anything strenuous to it. But it is killing me, wand the pain has just started radiating to my hips at times. I feel horrible, achy, flu-like, with nauseau and vomiting. Could this be a kidney infection or just coincidence? I have had an infection in the past, but sometimes, they are hard to differentiate.
